Installed a BED RUG mat and tailgate mat today. I didnt secure the bed mat with the supplied velcro ancors because I have a cap, so it shouldn't fly out, and if it does I am in trouble.

The dog doesn't seem to appreciate it yet, he wanted down as soon as I put him in for the test run, lol.

I like the Bedrug mat if you occasionally haul things that might mess up the Bedrug like dirt or gravel.
I like the quieting effect of a full carpet kit though and went with the full-bore Bedrug.
I think mine was $400 or so? Maybe a little less, I don't remember... I spent over $3k between the shell, Bedrug, and other items I bought last spring.

I ended up paying $169 for the mat, and think the little tailgate mat, was still $50! All together, with tax, was about $250. Actually more than I wanted to spend, but I didn't want to make a home made thing, and the dog need something back there. It took like a month and a half to come in, it was back ordered they said.

Oil change #1. 1289 miles. Got rid of the oil from break in and switched to M1.

Curious to see how the M1 holds up in the Tacoma. It's regarded as the evil liquid in the WRX/STi world, but I'm thinking without the stress of a turbo motor, it should be quite okay.

I had to pay for this one out of pocket, and then Toyota Care will kick in at 5,000 miles. I know I'll have to pay the difference since they spec conventional for the 4.0L, but it's money well spent IMHO. I'm gonna still run the 5K oil change intervals, I'm not worried about the cost.

Interesting... first I've heard of any issues with M1.
Please don't tell me that they're Royal Purple fanbois
That stuff is pure junk. Ran it for 2000 miles in my motorcycle and Castrol GTX held viscosity better.

The absolute BEST oil that you can run won't be cheap, and unfortunately, is not the proper grade for a Tacoma, and that would be Mobil-1 Racing-4T 10w40 or Amsoil MCT 10w30. Both are going to be around $10/qt, but both are true Group-IV basestocks and not the Group-III/IV blends used in automotive oils.

But seriously, I would never run anything OTHER than a full synthetic in a turbo engine.

The list of 2002-2005 2.0L motors spinning bearings from Mobil 1 5w-30 is actually surprisingly high. Royal Purple has the same general dislike.

I run Castrol Syntec 0w-30 (German Castrol) in my STi and have for the past 25K or so and I have a stack of UOAs to back up my results. The only other oil I would consider (that isn't a boutique oil) is Rotella T in 15w-40, but that's a bit thick for the Northeast, especially in winter.

My car seems to love the oil, outside of a few times I've run it particularly hard, I've never put more than 1/4-1/2 a quart in over 4,000 miles, and that's even sporadic at best.

LED Strip was little under $20 shipped on ebay (Waterproof with 3m tape on one side).

The rest was just wiring/shrink wrap/ inline fuse.

Hard wired into the dome light circuit. Added a 1 amp fuse just in case.

Put 750 miles on it today as part of my drive to get back home. Driving from Dahlgren, VA to San Diego, CA. I think I have about 1900 miles to go. Also got to drive through some snow all around Bristol, TN.

    LS Swap 500 hp......

when I get home I have papers that prove you wrong on that theory good sir!!! Lol my RP has lasted me well, not so on the M1, castrol is okay.....

i truly love Motul, ive done the viscosity testing at a lab, and RP at 5000 km vs M1 and Castrol

RP had the highest viscosity left and looked like it had only driven 3500, the castrol was second, and the m1 was shit

BUT i think it largely has to do with where, when how, and this was all done on the turbo'd ralliart

Put in a 4 put trailer wire harness...need a real kit though. Can't do signals with a regular self install plug.

    Organized some stuff inside

    Removed garbage

Finally gave in and stuck a CT4WD sticker on.. And a spy optic just for fun. Has that sticker for way too long.
