What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Still useless for now lol. I tested out the compressor and it took 9.5 min to fill up each tire from 12 psi to 40 psi.

 

No speed records there.

 

Nope... My ARB compressor will do my 255/85R16 KM2's from 20 to 50 psi at 5:05 per tire.

If I use my 4 way to do all 4 tires at once it will do it in 18:44.

 

Ya, its a bit of a let down. Even if it were like 6 min per tire I think I could deal. Im not going to wait 40+ min to air up my tires lol

I just thought I would try it out cause it was $25. I'm not really intersted in paying the $200+ price for most of the name brand ones. I am kind of looking at the

Only modifications needed was to cut some plastic off the edges of the piece that goes between the windshield and the engine bay. Hood opens fine, no clearance issues at all, and I didn't know they were for a 4Runner.

 

Was going up hill on snow/ice covered logging road at night and started going backwards once hitting severe black ice with zero snow around a steep corner.

Shit commenced to hit the fan aka ABS/traction control /beeps and buzzers/no brake or gas .

Sliding/skidding backwards for awhile, slowed down enough to make corner, continuing to skid the front end swung around now facing downhill so I could see tree coming towards me.

Turned hard left to try and avoid and I baby kissed a rock or something at the base of tree with wheel... Truck back end continued to slide down ice which turned me around again, ass hanging off road. Atrac and out.

Seemed fast at the time but I think I was going slower than I remember.

Only took a chuck outta my 3 month old 7089's... Wheel and tire still holds air, duratracs are fine.

Alignment is slightly off but no visible damage to LCA or rods or other stuff.. Going into shop tomorrow to grind the wheel to prevent tire damage and alignment.

I feel super lucky. Had my girlfriend in the truck and she straight freaked out, lol... I didn't realize how much steeper the road got in the dark and used downhill assist for once to make the girl feel safer so that's a bonus. U live u learn

I've had a similar experience in my old truck going backwards down a steep grade on ice

 

ABS or whatever happened there should be banned ... My first gen woulda stick and move, stick and move, like Cassius Clay

 

Beeping usually indicates VSC / Traction Control

My brake was stiff and gas had little effect... Are these trucks only meant for highways and going "straight" ? Lol...
