I went the other way on my black Suburban and rattle canned the roof white.

 

Paint was blistered and it was rusting anyways.

 

proper tuning has gotten rid of the port noise I was getting at high volume, so I'm not going to make a sealed box as previously planned.

I put the sockmonkey bed decals. I messed up the first one a bit, the second one came out better.

 

I finally put some stickers on and my wifey helped me put on my roof rack!!

 

Yanked out the plastic inserts behind the rear seats in order to remove the cast in shelf so that I can fit a tool box back there

Dad worked El Segundo after the Apollo was done until Rockwell was given the Shuttle contract.

 

Yup, I'm at Dyess. I've always loved the bone too! That's awesome that your dad got to work on them, I'm sure he's got some great stories!

 

He was primarily space program over in Downey, having worked the Navajo, , but since he joined NAA in '55, he had enough seniority to weather the layoffs when contracts were completed... though he was off work for about 6 months before being called back for production work on the shuttle.

Ne never actually worked on the B1B... he was on the Mach-2 rocketship that Carter cancelled (and in retrospect, probably the right decision at the time).

He started off on the F-100 and T-39/Sabreliner, also worked on the Navajo and the X-15.
That kept him busy until they put him on the CSM on Apollo.


He was not looking forward to the interviews after Apollo 13, and he had a good idea what had happened before the guys were even home, even though he wasn't on those systems (he worked the plumbing for the RCS in the command module itself).

I want to just remove the other side and put padding against the wall. The plastic seems to have too many unused voids. My truck came with the woofer so I lost a quarter of the storage space back there.

 

I used a dremel , sharp wood chisel and a file

The pic with the shelf hacked off was my first cut with the dremel , I used a rotozip style straight cutting bit and got rid of the bulk of the shelf material , I then removed the rest of the material a bit more carefully

 

I bet he has a lot of stories to tell. That's awesome.

 

The other side fits my jump pack perfectly so I'm not doing anything to that side

 

just traded my 2010 tocoma for a 2013 tocoma i had 32000 miles on it wreck it twice and they still gave me 25000 for it so i bought the exact same truck 2013 4x4 double cab sport red with the long bed first thing i added was sirius radio second thing i added was the electric start i love this truck
