Well Sunday I tried to install my 5100's but I couldn't get the shaft in the existing shock to quit spinning when I was trying to take the top bolt off so I wound up having to take it to the shop. Now my truck has been at the shop for two days because when they put the driver side shock/strut assembly back together the shaft is loose because they can't tighten down the top bolt on the shaft. The bolt runs out of thread before it gets tight almost like the shaft in the shock is to long. I think they left a rubber bushing out on the bottom of the top plate when they reassembled it but they swear they didn't. This has been a bad experience for me. I don't even have 2000 miles on my truck so I just want to drive it!

Anyways hope everyone else is having a good time!

 

they had to of left the top rubber spacer out...when i install these i leave it out because my compressor cant compress the springs enough to get the spacer and nut on...i can get just enough to start the nut...i then put them back on the truck and tighten everything else up...once you set the truck down on its own weight it will cause the shaft to come all the way through..i then remove the nut, install the spacer and tighten the nut up

a brand new truck shouldve had no problem removing top nut...i just did a dodge and no matter what i did the shaft would turn..so i cut the bitch with a torch that worked

The top rubber spacer is on there. I figured there was something on the bottom that was missing but they say it isn't. Here is a link I started with a few pictures for anyone with ideas.

Today I had AAA jump the truck. After only 27 months of use the battery died. No extra lights, no sound system. Good thing was I was within 3 miles of the dealership and it was covered under warranty.

 

Installed 5100's @ 1.75" and put on Cooper Discoverer ATP's. Oh! and i finally got a break from the rain on the coast and washed the truck.
