Tinkered with the bumper a little more. Didn't take any pics, but I weighed it. 182 pounds without winch. It still has quite a bit of work left, but most of that. Will be removing excess material. Hoping to keep total weight under 200 pounds

200 lbs @ the very front will cause the stock suspension to sag (especially under hard braking). Time for stronger springs...

I've got an OME lift with 886s. 4x4x.25 square tube and .25 plate. I have always built truck accessories way overkill. My last truck's front bumper weighed 340 pounds with winch. Truck before that was about 300 pounds, but didn't have a winch. And my first vehicle was a '90 pathfinder with 6" schedule 80 pipe bumper with center hoop made with 3" schedule 160. I've been in several wrecks, none of them my fault, snd have totaled every vehicle thats has come in contact with one mine.( except when my grandma t-boned my '12 taco 1 monyh after I bought it.

I don't even think 886's are rated for that much weight if you add a winch to that bumper!

40% on the windshield itself? That's illegal as hell isn't it? Or do you mean 40% on the other windows?

I don't remember exactly, but I think the 886s are good up to 220 pounds. I have roughly 50 pounds of material to remove, so as long as everything goes as planned, things should work out alright. I will be using some 10 gauge in a few spots where overkill isn't required. I think that some of the aftermarket bumpers are up there in weight as well (ARB, TJM, SHROCKWORKS)

I haven't heard of any that are too far over the 100lb mark actually. Most are only 1/8", 10gauge (like mine) or 3/16". I don't think I saw a company that makes them out of 1/4" yet. Do you ever plan on running skids as well? Between my 100-120lb bumpers and about 100lbs of skids were enough to make my 886's sag a little bit. Fixed the bro-lean I had going on though.

My compass and temp gauge went out a few weeks ago. I took everything apart over the weekend and fixed it today by soldering the 510 chip that had the solder break on it. My brother in law found out about the fix and had his boss call me, who also has a Tacoma, and had the same problem. Next will be an oil change and change out the spark plugs probably this weekend assuming that the weather is good.

Probably just gonna do one skid for now. Just gonna replace the flimsy factory splash guard thingy. I will use 3/16 for that. If I can contact my old boss, I will try to get some of the 10 gauge armor plate we used for military trucks. The 10 gauage armor would be about like having 5/16 plate. Most of our armor was atleast 3/8, but we had the thin stuff in the non-critical areas

I think they complement the truck well. It needed something there lol too empty looking before. Next is probably re-tinting the windows and black wheels. im also thinkin about some rain guards.
