Here are some pics of my adventures with POR 15. A friend of mine restored a 69 Bug and loved the stuff, having just lost my 2000 Tacoma to rust I wasn't taking a chance with this new to me 07. Ordered 2 quarts, the frame was in good shape really, a little surface rust in the welds that I took off with a wire brush and a red scotch brite pad. Used simple green on the dirty areas and wiped it down with alcohol before I painted with POR 15.

I wish I had a lift, would have made life easier, thought about digging a ditch LOL. My goal was to slather this shit on, and I did get some runs but I'm not worried about it. I think without taking the body off it's impossible to get everything in one pass anyway. Next I'll take the skid plate off and light sand the drips and get what I missed the first time. The stuff is really shiny and I'm going to use a top coat as the POR 15 doesn't have UV protection, will probably spray with matte black. THEN I'm buying that Eastwood rust proofer with the spray straw and hosing inside the frame, where I can't reach with a brush. DIE RUST.

Anyway, the POR 15 looks so pretty and clean it makes my muffler and other parts look bad! BBQ paint LOL, next project. Here are some pics, it's getting dark so I had to overexpose them so you could see the frame, makes my trim and tires look gray.

Anyone have experience with the KYB Strut Mount Kit? I ordered a couple for my 885/5100's today so I can go plug-n-play with 'em. Has bushings and isolators, I just hope the studs are removable

Thanks Rob. I wasn't sure how far I could paint behind the wheels so stopped until I could read more. Did know from reading here not to paint the drive shaft, although I was tempted! The highlights will have to be posted tomorrow night LMAO. Seriously, it's hard to get that stuff off once it dries and it seems like it gets everywhere.

I had a beautiful 2000 tacoma with only 132K miles, had received the frame rust warranty info but was in denial I guess, tucked it in the glove box. As I was getting two new back tires I asked the mechanic to check the frame to see if I needed to take it to a dealer. He didn't even look hard just pointed up under the passenger side and there was a hole you could put your fist in. Four days later I took it to the dealer, they put it on a lift and banged around the frame with a hammer. I could hear the difference in spots. They wouldn't even let me take it to have the new tires removed, had me clean out my stuff and brought me a loaner truck. The process was quick really and Toyota was awesome. But I was heartbroken over my 2000.

Not to write a novel but my life situation had changed since I bought my 2000 and I wasn't really in a position to finance or add money to what Toyota gave me. Was kind of scary, even used Toyota's are expensive and I didn't want to buy someone elses problems. After debating, older truck less miles or newer truck more miles, and considering what was available I chose this one. I really love it, love the color, love the reg cab and the manual transmission. Still kind of holding my breath in hopes she's as tough as my other Tacoma. Sorry to ramble but there's the scoop.

Thanks Linda for sharing your detailed info on the rust issue. I wished they made Toyotas in Japan and not here. Quality has suffered a lot.

    Good luck with the 07.

It's a Japanese design and material specification. It could be made in the Rolex factory and "quality" woulds be no different.

Well I started by disposing of all the dead bodies of the love bugs I killed on

As well as my new TRD badge. Old one endured a lot of beatings (1.5 yrs old)!

On the 3.5 hr drive I became tired of looking at the warning sticker on the socket cover so I
made this out of boredom today. It's always open as I'm constantly
    charging my cellular phone.

And I ordered the FJ Cruiser black TRD center caps for my TRD OR wheels!

Ya I hope so, but it's white so we'll see. My first white rig. My second choice for color, wife has the Grey on her T4R. Didn't want two Greys in the family. I really like the Stormtrooper look so that's where I'm headed.

I actually got it on Amazon lol.

Its really supposed to be for a trunk.
The one that is for a grille has little bolts sticking out
so its hard to mount, this one is flat on the back and comes with a precut 3M mounting tape.
