What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I've had bad experience with the rainx and the bosch icons as well. So I got sick n tired of spending $30 for a set of wipers and went with the el cheapo wal mart ones. For $8, they have out performed and lasted longer than the expensive brands.

 

Just ordered a UltraGauge. I'm kind of anxious to see how it works.

 

Where did you order it and what did it run you?? I'm looking at getting one.

 

Here and $75 shipped with mounting bracket. I'm really curious about all the different gauges you get with it. I think it will be cool especially after reading all the reviews.

 

Got my bedrack mounting brackets welded onto my crossbars by Sick Nick Fab in Stanton CA.

 

I just got one and installed it last weekend. So far on a fresh tank of gas I'm averaging a solid 2mpg (from 16 to 19) better than without. It provides very useful insight into how much gas you're using. I was very surprised at how much fuel can be saved by lifting off the throttle by a fraction of an inch and also by coasting downhill on freeways.

 

Thats great to know! That is one reason that I wanted it so I could get real time feedback since our trucks don't come with that option among others. Thanks for letting me know about that

 

I have had good luck with the Rain-X blades and a Teflon blade from NAPA. I am a religious user of Rain-X on the windows though and I think it helps the performance of all blades. The Rain-X washer fluid also helps. I can't stand any noise or streaks coming from my blades so at the first sign of that they get changed.

1 - I took a photo of my dash so if I shop for stereos, I know what install kit to buy
2 - I drove it to dinner and back
3 - I put a new knife in the glove box

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?!

 

I think the biggest problem with wiper blades is the crap you put on the window. Whether it's the wax the car wash dumps on the windows, the 'stuff' in the 'washer' bucket at the gas station or something else, I think it eats at the wiper blades. I do try to clean the blades with a paper towel from time to time but once they've quit cleaning the window, there's not much you can do. I did see a thingy you could run over the blade that trimmed it. Not sure how well that works.

Why do the wipers suck so bad on the taco, already on my third set and only owned it a year, and they all streak. Tried 3 brands too

Congratulations on being free and clear ! Do you use a torque wrench when you rotate tires ? If not does it cause any problems ?

 

I scraped my windshield with a razor blade but I guess I'll try the Rain-X washer. Thanks.
