What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Done yesterday .... Oil change, tire rotate, replaced the three U Joints on the drive shaft to clear up my vibration issue.

 

Oh yeah ... and new engine air filter.

 

New BFG 265-70-17's.
Fit like a glove.

I think they look good in black..never seen anyone derp these wheels before

 

Ya I googled what they would look like and found 1 pic of them on a jeep, I just finished up with them pics coming up!

 

Finished one side, I got to say they could grow on me in black.

Sort of a busy weekend for me. I washed & waxed my Taco.



Installed my TRD accessory skid plate



I also installed my Bakflip F1 last weekend & went ahead & snapped a picture of that. So far the tonneau cover is awesome & appears to be water tight.

 

I like it! Looks good.

 

Loaded brewing kit/equipment....road trip to my son's to make an IPA.

 

Sounds like a good time. Good father son activity. Work on the truck while its brewing lol.

 

I finally took apart the driver's door to verify the wiring configuration for the mirrors. Seems my TRD OR is wired for the sport mirrors. I think a mirror swap may be in the near future.

 

I went to go wheeling today.

Ended up driving a few trails then going and buying a strap to go and rescue my friend in the dodge he just bought 2 days ago. It threw a rod through the block with 80k miles.. other then that its a oretty truck. Lifted plate bumpers warn 12k winch etc.

I ended up towing his truck 40 miles for him.. so much for my tank of gas.

After making a few repairs and talking to Jerez about fitment this is what I have today. The 2012 stereo is leaps and bounds better than what came with my 2010. There will be some audiophiles that say to get an after market, but I took a Sony MEX-BT3900u out because it was just to much.

Edit: I figured out how to take the stereo apart and remove all the buttons (stuff in black) so I could paint the bezel to match my truck. Still looking for the perfect silver to match the dash but Silver Streak works well.



After this week and my upcoming road trip next weekend I will most likely be placing the Sony for sale with the dash it and metra steering wheel controller adapter. Need to make sure I am happy.

 

looks like it's time to paint the rest of the dash trim instead.

 

That's the way I am leaning, but I'll most likely have to wait until the spring before I can do anymore painting.

Installed part of my suspension upgrade. Icon Ext.Travel Coilovers with 700# Coils and Light Low Speed Valving. The ride with these Icon coilovers is like night and day coming from Bilsteins set at 2.5". I love it! LR UCA's are next on the list to install this week. Then alignment. Then hit the trails
