What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Dude, I gotta say, your rig alone has been my inspiration even months before getting my truck...and it's funny because I was just thinking how sick your rig would look with a rear swing out! haha

As always, looks great man. I'm quite a few mods behind you, but some soon I'll be ordering my armor.

 

Haha, I laid the first cut out and had to take a little beer break before makin the first cut. It was a little weird feeling at first!

 

Which ones have you guys used? My BF front bumper is coming on the 31st. I was considering getting Herculiner off Amazon for $79, but it's a roll-on kit unless I get a $20 spray gun too. Rolling a bumper seems like it would be a big pain in the ass to me, and I don't know how I'd get in all the inside bends.

So what brand rattle can would you recommend? And how many cans to do a bumper?

Had Billy just build the main swing out, I'll be building the tire carrier / camp table to mount on it. Just another project on the list for spring!

 

bought some wet okoles... weathertech digifits... kenwood back-up camera for my DNX9980HD and a billet 14" antenna... oh and some really good and bright sylvania repl headlight and fog light bulbs - did the mag light mod yesterday - rear diff mod soon...

 

I used the Rustoleum brand on my sliders and I'm happy with it. My buddy just did his tube bumpers with it as well and they turned out great.

I used herculiner on my sliders and don't really care for it. (to gritty-sandy and turning gray with time) I used Gunk rubberized auto body undercoating on my Avid light bar and RBG and so far I really like it. Has a little texture but not so much that you can't wipe it down when washing. Dries pretty hard and seems to be holding it's color. I think in the near future I'll spray it over the sliders and hope it smooths them out a bit and stays black.

 

i used the same thing! Rustoleum spray on bedliner. Got it at Autozone for $10.00 a can and used 2 cans! And that was with 5 solid coats on it! This stuff dries within a few minutes to the touch but i let it sit over night and it is like concrete! Great stuff! A little gritty but gives it a very tough look and is just slightly glossy. I went ahead and spray duplicolor paint over it also to match my truck and it looks perfect! Will get a pic up soon once i wash it (covered in mud from this weekend)

 

Thanks for the info! Guess that's what I'll getting! lol Spray on is a hell of a lot easier than roll on. This will be the front bumper so I don't want chipping or flaking from all the sand/salt they put on the roads here during the winter.

 

Today, I added seatbelt hangers that I got from the dealer. Ive finally gotten rid of that annoying seatbelt rattle on and off road.

^^^ dude I have got to get one of those! I got so many wires between lights, gauges, battery contoller, and sound system I got wires everywhere! I might need 2 or 3 haha! Looks good man

 

My Dog put a dent in my tailgate jumping in the bed & then jumped out of the bed before I could get the tailgate down scratching the side of the bed.
