Started making a Masonic ring for my dad, and went more detailed with the carving. Just started the stabilizing, sanding, and finishing.

F9F379AA-D3E4-41E0-8919-34E1CFED0D89.jpg Not built today but I did build it from just glass and a shelf in the house. It’s 8’ long by 2’ tall and 1’ wide, about 125 gallons. Getting restarted and looking pretty good.

It was a pain to build and extremely heavy, dropped it on my finger at one point. I’d still do it again. It sits in a perfect place in my house and it’s built in.

The worst part was not knowing exactly what I was doing and totally expecting that entire tank to explode in my house. 8 years going strong

Made with all 1/2” glass. Like I said it’s heavy. I neglected it a while but getting back on it now. The fish in there are the starter fish getting my water ready for the fish I commit to.

CF43D0B1-8033-4E54-9BC5-BC5D4C73E674.jpg This is basically an example of the shelves I made my aquarium in. I had a set on each side of my back door. This side still looks like this while the other is the aquarium.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Oscars are crazy fish. Had one when I was a kid. He survived my little sister giving him orange juice (she thought he would enjoy it) and he also survived jumping out of the tank and being battrd around the living room by our dog. Had some cool looking scars on his side after that one.

Oscars are cool but I want a lot of fish instead of just a few.

Don’t mix South American and African cichlids. Especially convicts.

    Ask me how I know.

I know too. Been there done that. I’m honestly considering planting the crap out of it and making it a community tank.

Love to have a built in shelf like that so I could put all my wet shaving gear, soaps, and aftershaves out on display.

When I was younger and didn't know I bought a pair of large Angel fish to add to my cichlid tank. In the morning I went to feed them and found two Angel skeletons.
