Y'all are a bunch of weirdos.. you don't put Cilantro on these tacos. Clearly it belongs on a lot of other tacos... as well as a lot of other things.. but not these ones.

Maybe you all need to read the Taco Rules again.

Supports didn't come off suuuuper clean because I didn't have any warm water, but the last stage is usually how I receive them to polish for work, so it's really neat to be on the design end :D

I'm curious why you're using supports when they all have at least 1 flat side.

I'm not terribly well versed in this because I'm just getting into the 3D side of things, but from what I understand:

    1. Orienting a model at an angle creates supports of different lengths. On some printers, you can place supports closer to the wiper side, shortening the distance the wiper travels during the final layers, which is just a time saver. Not every printer is like this, though.

    2. Putting large, flat surfaces to an incline of 10–20 degrees increases success rate by a lot. When you print a model at an angle, you are reducing the surface area of each layer while also decreasing the amount of contact the print has with the tank. Smaller surface area means that the print is subject to less force as the build platform raises with every layer.

    3. When branching features of a model meet, the intersection can crack or split. Orienting the model to stand with the merging feature facing toward the build platform creates a shared base for branching features to grow from. Instead of layers coming together at a joint, the layers separate into different paths.

    4. It can prevent failure from overhanging features if we do any weird shapes, etc.

    5. Preventing suction in general. If I were to say, print the d6 (square die) on the build plate directly, it would probably suck right off onto the FEP sheet, so it would need supported on 5 faces rather than 3 due to the 90 degree angle of the other 4 faces. Any flat faces would also need to be absolutely covered in supports and trimmed with flush cutters rather than twisting off. Even if it didn't stick to the FEP sheet you would likely get "Elephant foot" which would warp the dice too badly to fix.

Those are all the issues I can think of at the moment from what I understand about resin printers. My boss is one of the top master makers in the US so while I'm learning, I'm definitely just going to follow his example, haha.

When I was in Colorado last week, one of the brackets for my Road Shower vibrated loose and fell off. Yakima does not sell replacements. So I made one.

Made some skull dice for a repeat client. Ran into snags every step of the way. Was super surprised when I pulled them out of the pressure pot today that they turned out totally okay

Work in progress for an upcoming gallery show (virtual). Got a long ways to go but the tricky part is done. The theme is fear in technicolor.

Absolutely love your color choices! What did you use to sculpt on the canvas?
I hope we get to see it finished!
