Some things I made for my daughter. Bedroom set. She is a concert violinist and travels a lot. Made the map from cedar so she can push the state pins into it. Left her do the painting on the map. She buys the pins from each state she has been in. The Washington monument has pins for the national parks she has been to. Jewelry box on dresser and the right on the stool made of purple heart

That purpleheart looks great. Most of the items I've made or seen that were made from purpleheart have been small and I've wanted to see larger items made with it.

Because of the shape of the box and how hard the wood is, it took a lot of hours sanding but it was worth it.

I was able to get out to the shop for a few minutes this afternoon and turned the remaining two circuit board pens.

Jet 1015 and a 1015VS wood lathes. I used regular wood turning gouges and finished with 400 grit sandpaper and stepped up to 40000 grit cloth and finished with white diamond polish.

I would like to have a CNC but I prefer doing it all by hand.

    Image intense warning.

So my son needed a bottle buddy doll thingamabob to go with his report at school. It had to be on someone who changed the world as we knew it. He picked Nicola Tesla. Apparently you use a 2 liter bottle and make a doll. So this is it so far.

    It begins.

Weapon of choice so far. Mainly because I don’t remember where I put the electric one.

End result. Don’t worry about the mark on the cheek. It’s just a flesh wound.

I kinda forgot to snap some pics in process but here the end part of clothing and tailoring the clothes to fit a 2 liter bottle.

Getting the clothes on and tying his tie.

Final trimming for a nice tailored fit.

I held myself back saying it was a school project. It didn’t need every little detail on the suit jacket. It’s killing me though. I’m a stickler for details when I make stuff.

My wife asked me to build her a flower tower.

She filled it up. It should look great in a few weeks. It's mostly petunias.

I just recently redid my king headboard. I took my existing headboard and added 7 inches of height to it, then cut and stained rough cut pine boards into 4 different colors and finally did a herringbone pattern with a border.

    Here is the before/during/after
