I used some scrap 2x4s and cut them down to 1.5 inches. I made a "frame" for this cutting board simply to keep from tearing out the edges and screwed the frame together around the cutting board to hold it into place. It also gives me a test area when adjusting the depth of the router bit.

i had some pieces just laying in there and it kept slipping and digging in. This should help keep it from moving around. The other thing I was going to do was put some of that cupboard lining on the bottom so it wouldnt move.

I guess I haven't fully made it yet but im making this stained glass RV sign with wood burned palm trees and beach on one side and cacti with desert on the other for a military couple at my current location.. I made a sign similar for our TT but no where nearly as detailed.. Same colors but not all the lines and design.

This Is all the glass ready to be foiled for their sign..
    robandandreassign1.jpg

And here is our sign for reference as to what theirs will look like.. The letters are a blue pearl epoxy. Once I fab a stand for it we will place it out in front of the RV.

and another I completed for Mothers Day a few weeks ago prior to final coating.

good to see someone else doing stained glass! I'm new to it, but I really like it so far. I love the glass in the wood slices; looks super nice

    Thank you!
Funny this wasn't supposed to be my hobby.. The gf decided to get into it and made a couple pieces and hasn't touched it since so ive been messing with it as im recovering from shoulder surgery so this is sort of my light duty "fabrication" until I get back into my fab shop! We also live in an RV and have way tooo many crafts but I wont be giving this one up.. its pretty fun. The soldering is anyway lol

Mostly done, need to finish filling in a knot on the side and sand down, then oil/seal it, add some rubber feet and should be decent cutting board. 18"x12"x1.75"

Yea, that will be at least next year, maybe the year after. Want to let the wood dry good, get seasoned well so the paint or stain (whichever we decide to do) will stay on it will.
