Napoleon was so afraid of air rifles, he had a standing order that any enemy soldier captured with one was to be killed on the spot..

I didn’t realize it until this morning before getting ready to drop off to my buddy, I had an extra row of blue. Glad I realized it looked off and fixed it before giving it to him. I told him about it and said some American I am lol.

    What's the process for drying?

Also, I'm more of a metal guy, but I've got a bunch of glued oak boards that have developed a bow to them, any suggestions on how to straiten them?

    Thanks!

Which one? The deburr was made with a lathe. And the rack was a laser cutter/engraver. I can give lots on either, it's both my hobby and work lol.

Awesome thanks, I've been wanting to do something similar to what you had posted earlier.

1/2" and 3/8". The bows are pretty substantial, more like an arch.....about 1" measured at the middle. I tried wetting them and clamping flat, but they just cracked. I was thinking I might need to let the water fully penetrate and gradually flatten them over a couple of days.

I was more interested on how the image was put on, but a laser cutter/engraver makes sense.

Portraits are tough. If you mess up a tree....well, they grow in lots of different ways. A face has to appear within a certain amount of variation or it looks "off". If you want to use humans as your subject then work at shading, shading, shading. You can practice by drawing a bunched up sheet and making it look 3 dimensional. That way you will not get discouraged by your results while still getting better at it. Also keep in mind that when we draw, we are trying to recreate a picture that is the opposite of they way our eyes see. We typically will see "light" but we are trying to draw "shadows". You have to teach your brain to see the dark instead of the light. Also, it helps to find the lightest part of the image or scene and make that your brightest, least shaded part of your drawing. Then start layering in the shadows from there.

That's true... I have gotten to where most of my shading, when possible, I just shade heavy on my hard lines and then blend it into the "center" and that way it graduates pretty evenly, and I wind up in shading a goos bit for my highlights with an eraser...

I can't make her look the right age haha. She has just some slight roundness to the edges of her cheeks but when I try and do it she looks like a chipmunk. I also got her forehead a little short here too but I was kinda commited by the time I realized.

The mountains and text were done with the laser, it's super simple and works great, just find a picture you like and Bam! If you have a drawing program like coreldraw you can do pretty much anything. I even cut the box and the slot it mounts to work the laser, makes it much faster then by hand.
