We're looking to add cnc capabilities to a couple knee mills, we've got a HAAS, but it would be nice to have something conversational for brackets etc or training.

The bed mill is 3 axis, it has an engraving program which is what I made the plate on. The other one is just 2 axis, we’ve had them both a long time. They are very user friendly and don’t have to use G code.

New to the CNC world, still working on kinks.

hope to have a lot more to post soon.

Got the table complete Saturday before Mother’s Day. My mom was watching the flag cut in amazement while wearing my hood. Then the table scrolled over cut the inside heart first and she was amazed and really like her gift.

Now her bday is Friday and we’re big German shepherd family. So I made her this. It took forever, tool paths are a hard thing to do. Well not too hard, but very time consuming.

    Thank you,

I was working on the heart before the table was complete. A man on in one of my plasma cutter groups and me tackled that project. It took me a while.
The flag was just a dxf download from langmuir's fireshare community.

I'm currently working on bottle openers, but I'm afraid I may have too much detail too close together for a plasma cutter to do.

If everyone would be so kind as to follow my instagram handle since that's really the only way I can justify such an investment is to make a little side money.

Hopefully I'll be able to keep the instagram page flowing with a couple new posts a week.

I posted this is a different thread but I should have posted it here too

    So an update FINALLY!!

I had been waiting on a friend of mine to cut some vinyl and whether it was due to the Rona messing with Amazon deliveries or my friend just wasn't interested I sought another avenue and talked to a local professional sign shop who turned out to not be interested in cutting me some vinyl either after wasting 5 days of my time.. so I said screw it and came up with my own plan.. which is best for me anyways.
First I found a vector file online and after some guidance from @Misplaced Nebraskan and @Kanyon71 I found a kid on my FD who has Photoshop and was able to enlarge the image to my desired size and 16 sheets of paper later.. I had what I needed!

A layer of contact paper on the stainless steel doors I made and a quick check to make sure the layout was going to work.

A spray adhesive was used to glue the paper to the doors (hence the contact paper which is also the stencil material)

It took 3 hours on the first door and 2 1/2 on the second door to cut out the design with an exacto knife ( yes my fingers hurt)

A coat of satin black paint on both the doors and some drying time in the sun.

The stencil pulled off and it's looking fantabulous! (I think so anyways)

The stainless steel, the satin black and the burned wood look sexy AF together!

Obviously I still have to adjust the doors (after the paint dries) to line up the image etc and add the braces inside the doors and a few other things before it goes back in the whiskey room but today was a SUPER productive day for me!

Rivets .. especially stainless steel ones.. suck! Haha

Well... They say all good things must come to an end.. or something stupid like that.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

I put a clear coat on the doors today after waiting 48 hours like the directions said.. same brand of paint and clear coat. I don't know what went wrong but it bubbled the paint. And now that the rivets are in it's nearly impossible to try and fix. There's just no way I have the motivation to redo this massive project.

If anyone has any ideas.. I'm all ears. I've got a ton of time and money in this project that I some how ruined within minutes.

So... Earlier I mentioned that I was only kidding about lighting it on fire... But in the end.. that's exactly what I did... PAUSE!! Let me explain...

Haha the metal doors are fucked up beyond repair tho I do have an idea for those later.

Since the metal doors were out and I'd already changed the metal shelves to wood.. why not have some wood doors?

The thought of trying to make the wooden doors all perfect etc wasn't exactly a fun idea so I decided to go "rustic" and still have it look awesome! (That's my opinion anyways.. feel free to form your own)

I started with some 2 foot by 4 foot pine.. the idea here is that it's cheap, the size I need and I used pine on the shelves.

A little trimming, a groove for the hinges, a light sanding and the doors are ready for the next step.

I picked up some hard board (think paneling without the design on one side) due to its natural ability to not just burst into flames. I spent a few hours in the scroll saw cutting out the lettering etc. There's no way I was going to be able to do the curly q designs so I left this off. I laid out the pending design on the raw doors in preparation for the fire!!

You'll see above I needed some tiny circles that I just used a couple of dimes and a nickel that I happened to have in my pocket.

Onto the fun part! A small propane torch was used to burn the wood in the direction of the grain. Since these doors are made of strips of glued together pine strips the pattern is as random as the thoughts in my brain Haha

So the hard board I used was just laid in place.. no glue or tape (both highly flammable!!) So the lettering is just lifted off to reveal the pattern. It's not meant to be perfect or anything close.

I also burnt the edges and the backside of the doors so when they're open they're all going to match the shelves etc.

This last photo is right after the first of at least 3 coats of polyurethane. This will take a few days to complete both sides etc. Then some handles, some magnetic closers and it'll be ready to move back to the Bourbon Room and reload it !

I dig it! Not a jack fan, but the idea is great. Right now we have all of ours in a rolling island that we bought a long while back from walmart.
