Hedge trimmer. Have some hedges at the top of the driveway that are a couple hundred feet from the house. Back the truck up to end of the driveway, plug in and trim away.

I tried to plug a blower into mine. It bogged pretty bad and cut out. I've also got a USB/110 outlet in the cab...that I haven't used. It sounded like such an awesome thing to have. :notsure: Maybe when the kids are older and need chargers for their gadgets. :pccoffee:

I haven't even read the instructions.

... and I have a Husqvarna gas trimmer, or I'd probably end up trimming the cord otherwise. No cumbersome electric yard tools for me.

Is there any threads on how people added the bed power if their Tacoma didn't come with it? I think I may add it but I'll probably get a bit more then the 400W factory.

As an engineer, i am often asked by marketing/sales to add features to products that i feel are useless, but they can brag about. Other than a few small powered items, this just about fits the bill. No doubt some people get use out of it, contractors with cordless tools comes to mind. However, i bet the majority bought the truck thinking they would use the outlet much more, only to be disappointed with the lack of amperage available.

my taco didn't have one and I actually needed it, what I did was get some long booster cables and hardwired them to my battery and just ran them to the back storage box and threw a connecter on them so when I'm working off the bed of my truck I just plug in my inverter, and actually made a plug to connect to it for my air compressor to air up my tires so I didn't have to lift my hood anymore

I've inflated my air mattress a few times using the built in 120v pump.

Had no issue using my Dewalt mini-shop vac to clean out the cab for the first time in 3.5 years. Mostly just sand, dirt and twigs, but there was the occasional receipt clog to keep it edgy.

Always ran it on the 400w mode. No issues.

While building a duck blind I used it to power a 7 1/4" circular saw.

The only thing was u had to wait for the saw to "Spool up". It wasn't like it being plugged into the wall but it didn't he job good enough.

I saw a guy driving around in his Taco yesterday with an inflatable santa. No clue how it didn't fly off, but that was hilarious!
