What have you turned off on your Tacoma?

Ha, I just caught that too. It is LSD, isn’t it. Hey, I took of lot of that back in the early 70’s when I was in high school.

 

Turned off the auto high beam, just takes too long sometimes to turn off.

Lane departure doesn't work at all like I thought it would, pretty useless in my opinion.

Don't have BSM but I keep the pre collision on because hey you never really know.

 

I never use auto high beam. Agree it doesn’t work well enough.

 

Maybe not considered funny by all, but Start Trek: Voyage Home ... Kirk explaining to the female biologist about Spock ... "He took too much LDS".

How can i turn off my seat belt alarm 2023 Pro ?

 

This can be done with the TechSteam software. That's the application Toyota uses on their scan tool for diagnostic work. So, you can either ask the dealer to do it for you or there a few threads on the forum here that descibe how to get the application working on a laptop and what cable to buy so you can do it yourself.

Alternatively, if you happen to decide to have the truck tuned (definitely a worthwhile investment, especially if you have an automatic transmission!) many tuners will do this for you at no additional charge when performing the tune.

 

I have asked the dealer , they won't turn off the alarm . I am just out side of St Johns Newfoundland , is there anyone around here that will tune the truck ?

Got a ticket today for not wearing my seat belt. I had stuck a cheater in the latch so my truck wouldn’t yell at me and it cost me a ticket. I told the trooper that I identify as a non-wearing seat belt person, which I thought was funny. He did not and gave me a ticket.

 

This is hilarious! So matter of fact. "He did not and gave me a ticket." Love it.

 

Copilot, wife, does. Not put seatbelt on until we are under way (it’s just her thing ). Found the beeping does stop after a little bit

 

FWIW: Here's my list
Auto High Beams - That is not oncoming traffic friendly, and it's unreliable.
Anyway, I tend sometimes to use the technique of switching back and forth between low-beam, and high- and low-beam on simultaneously (i.e. not clicking into high beam constantly on, but just pulling the stalk back to get both on) to help with depth perception looking way down the road. It's something that I learned to do when I learned to drive, and in the country can help you a great deal with twisty winding roads.

Lane Departure warning - in the country with winding roads, sometimes, you just HAVE (heh heh) to step over the line.

Cruise and Dynamic Cruise Control - yeah, never ever have used it in any of my vehicles with it.

SirusXM - never loved it, was often repetitive. Didn't even enable it and the trial period on the truck. Very poor S/N in my opinion. I use Android Auto, and much prefer the sound quality of Pandora, Spotify, MyHeart Radio as sources.

Phone Charging Pad - often not in the truck long enough to really need it. When I do, I turn it on and use it.

 

There's a turn signal chime, i probably cant hear it as I'm always listening to comedy on Sirius xm, funny shit. or Howard Stern.

 

You can shut off the lane departure from the steering wheel, i turned it off when i picked up the truck the first day and have never turned it back on, its annoying. I know how to drive , its the other people who don't.
My wife has it on in her Camry and it drives her nuts when i shut it off.

 

It is pretty much inaudible over about 45mph. Nice to not hear it at stoplights.

 

How do you shut off the door chime?
