I never use cruise control. I'd like to replace the grill in my TRD OR with a metal mesh, but there is no place for the sensor in that. So what happens if I just unplug it and turn it off using the PCS controls? Any difference?

You knowingly ordered the wrong grill?
    That doesn't make any sense

No, I just like the look of the clean metal mesh. No letters and no shiny block of plastic in front. If I have to keep it plugged in, I'll come up with something. But I'd rather just leave it out. Cruise control ruins the feeling of driving for me. In my last vehicle, I used it twice in thirteen years.

I will if I have to. I'll just cut a chunk out of the lower part of the grill and come up with some kind of housing. Will 99% of people notice? Nope. But I will and I guess that's why we each like to put our own style on our trucks.

Maybe the sensor will still function through the grill. IDK. I was just wondering if someone else had already tried.

One way or another, we'll all know by this Saturday...

You know that sensor is more than for cruise control, right?

No, I didn't. I assumed it works with cruise control to apply brakes if <insert something bad> happens. I did not think it was active if you are not using CC. Hence, this post.

I think it has the pedestrian and crash sensor or something like that. It’s more than just CC.

That's correct. It seems that OP was not aware of that.

This is all good information. I will look into it more or maybe someone will chime in. Either way, the new grill should be here by the end of the week and I'll do some experimenting this weekend.

Lol it controls a lot of stuff like:
    Emergency stop
    Cruise Control
    ABS
    Lane Assist

And it will light up the dash when unplugged.
It will light up the dash if not aimed correctly.

Good luck haha. Add some wheels. Add a sticker. Leave the safety features alone.
