I honestly don't think there is much to complain about, they are badass trucks off the lot.. sure they have squeaks and creaks, and a few TSBs but once you get past them you are :plane:

Thicker paint, 40/60 split bench seat for the regular cabs, would it kill Toyota to install a bed light?

In general the Tacoma needs a "fresher" look and feel. IMO, when inside my 2012 it is very easy to forget that I am in a brand new truck. The interior feels old and out dated even when compared to other 2012 Toyotas. The instrument cluster, the cluster lighting (needs LED), lack of options like sunroof or glass roof even, adjustable pedals. It just seems like a new 10 year old vehicle to me. I love my truck and all, but these are the things I noticed when I took my truck in for the driveline vibration TSB and they gave me a really nice 2012 Camry, THAT car fealt like it was a new car and worthy of making that "new car payment"

I just bought a 13 Taco and I was shocked to discover there was no option for power seats or heated mirrors. Also as a previous poster mentioned, no power sliding rear window is a bit of an oversight.

Its a bit of a pipe dream but, a choice of gear ratios or transmissions would be nice. Lets say you want the Tacoma but aren't going to tow or go rock crawling, it would be nice to not have to change gears 3 times before you hit 40 :p

That being said, it seems like a great truck so far. Super solid, comfortable, and handles well. Not super stoked on this clunky transmission but, its not a deal breaker by any means.

i wish the dealers were more oriented to help people fix issues with the vehicles, not hide behind fine print and screw people, love the tacoma though and id like a power rear sliding window like a few others have said

3 series beamers have manual seats and pleather. Lol

I don't see where all the "complaints" are coming from. This is a 30k truck. Being compared to f150 and ram series trucks? That's tundra territory. Compare to frontier , canyon, Dakota.....it's a no brainer. Taco def best all around in mid size pick up. Someone mentioned a 6spd tranny, ? The manual is a 6speed. Fuel efficiency? Get a 4 banger.

The paint for sure sucks, dealerships and getting tsb's def need improvement. But let's call a spade a spade here :)

    I'd like a 6-speed stick in my DCLB...with a diesel...
And maybe an oversized 7th gear for really low rpm for highway cruising? I'd like to see 1500 rpm at 80 mph

Wow, indeed. The OP asked what we would change, and people provided answers. Slow down, buddy. Not everyone has the same needs/wants.

Lets not forget that the title of the thread is "What improvements would you like to see on your Tacoma"

I wasn't "bitching" just trying to participate in the thread. Quickly realizing how touchy some people are about their trucks. ;)

I just signed up this month and I get the feeling that you can't say anything negative about the mighty Tacoma without someone being offended. Never seen a forum quite like this one.

Tacoma is still behind the power curve. My 2005 Ram had more features than this '13 Tacoma. For that matter so did my 2002 Super Duty.

Isn't a ram and super duty a dif class truck than a tacoma?

Ofcourse. The Honda Accord is different as well. But you can get them loaded out with features. Why not in the Tacoma? It's in need of upgraded features to get current with the times.

Yea. But its not like he's saying the Ram is better because it has more HP and towing. Its a valid complaint IMO that just looking at features his 2005 has more than a brand new Taco.
