Alaska or northern Canada have places like that still, but in the continental US nope. Most likely in Mexico or south America to, but if you take a wrong turn you end up in a drug field and very possibly dead.

The Frank Church is one of the most beautiful wilderness areas I’ve backpacked. Highly recommended.

Probably not a consensus definition but I tend to think of overlanding as getting as far away from the road as possible and off roading as driving the most extreme terrain as possible.

https://goo.gl/maps/z9odYVgW2HfywUBMA (location of second sandwich, not sure how far away this was from pavement exactly)

Overlanding is about eating sandwiches with epic views. My Dometic fridge kept my plant based lunch "meat" at the perfect temperature.

There are some sections on BBP that have a deceptively steep grade change.

There are some washed our sections on Black Bear pass and I but I know exactly what happened he was going downhill and cut his wheel too much, it looks like rain washed out the trail behind him making it worse. And based on how it’s sitting I think it tumbled onto the driver side and came to rest that way.

I wasn’t on the trail when this happened, but I was a quarter-mile behind when someone else did almost exactly the same thing in another fifth generation 4runner.
