That is an option problem, not a 1st gen problem. My CC rocks...it is totally awesome. I don't know how you live without it.

the one thing I don't like:

    The fucking clock.

What genious thought it was a good idea to place the clock in direct line with the steering wheel?!

I do have a gripe about the CC, though. it seems to downshift quite readily. I'll go over an overpass and it'll downshift. = annoying.

for me the most annoying things are in the interior:

placement of the 4x4 shift knob. I'm lazy and like to flop my right leg to the side when using cruise control and the knob pokes into my knee.

placement of the clock, blocked from the drivers point of view by the steering wheel.

2 cup holders are great, but when I have my coffee and water with me I don't really have a place to stash my wallet and phone where I can see them.

the center console lid is too far back and a pain in the ass to open and fully see the contents inside without twisting my upper torso.

    oh yeah,

the beep tone when locking/unlocking the doors is horribly annoying.

no way to temporarily disable daytime running lights without installing a switch.

the doors relock if I unlock them with the key fob and don't open one within a minute or so.

I agree with several posters. More room...I'm 6'2/230. Wish it had better ergos for getting in/out and for leg room. I have a manual so that also makes it a little bit more confining. Other than that, nothing. Love it!

I hated it too so I unplugged the piezo alarm to disable it. It is between the battery and the fender and you can disconnect it. Some people cover the hole with tape to muffle the sound. Stand at the fender and hit the lock/unlock button and you will find it easily.

huh, you the original owner? maybe the prev owner disabled all of these? or maybe it was just an option some people paid extra for because they thought they were going to be better than the next guy.

    1. Just remove the skid plate. It's a lot easier for the whole procedure to do everything from underneath.
    2. Buy a 2nd gen, then report back.

    Only complaints I have are:
    1. MPG could be a bit better
    2. It wasn't free
    3. Mine didn't come with a locker

Honestly, I love everything about my truck. It might be thirsty when it comes to MPGs, but I didn't buy a Hybrid, I bought a truck. That's to be expected.
