    Mine looks like Mbtstaco. Yours could possibly be because of older model year and/or the tech package. Which could only mean us suckers that paid for the more expensive newer models and packages require more tin foil.

    @Mbtstaco
    Did you activate your trail remote services when you got the truck? I see yours says expired and shows some info I'm guessing not current though.
    Whilst I just ignored all that and nothing is there.

    @RedRoss
    Mine is a 2020 SR5. Maybe that is the difference. I only had the opportunity to use safety connect and the in car wifi hot spot services which both I ignored. Mine doesn't have a tech package and I'm OK with that.... less to break later.

    I did get an email about signing up for the safety service some time about a year after I picked up my truck but that's all.
    Probably is the lack of tech package that makes the difference. I see on the infotainment screen that the DCM connects in the top right corner. Not sure what it's doing. It's definitely not sending data I can view in the app. I'm sure someone can see it somewhere.
    Still I'm being tracked by my phone for sure cus Google maps always suggests destinations I go to but have never actually asked to navigate to.
    Time for tin foil..

    Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    Fuckers are going to find all of my secret fishing lakes. This is war.

    Watch taking photos of the big’un on your iphone and texting your friends. They can tell where the pic was taken.

    Most cell phones and some digital cameras add a location tag to every photo or video. I know with Android you can disable that in camera settings.

    Worked for Anheuser Busch 20+ years ago. They were the pioneers of big corp marketing, half of their entire annual budget dedicated to it. One of their early breakthroughs regarding data capture was the buying of register tapes (IRI?) from chain grocery stores. They knew what kind of beer you bought, what you bought along with it, how and how much you paid, zip code, m/f, etc...A demographic treasure trove in those days and this started in the 80s! Same game today, all still for sale just different medium...001011010 haha

    I saw something similar on a rental car agreement. Basically if you pair your phone to the rental car then they have a right to monitor your phone. Not so much that they care what you are texting, but if you get in an accident and the car shows you were texting at time of the accident, then that voids any insurance that you may have bought through the rental company.

    You can enable storing but not sharing the location on iPhone.

    To make a point to many of the other posts here, just because there's an industry trying to profit from our data doesn't mean that we give up all our privacy. After all lawmakers, companies and consumers alike are waking up to the fact that privacy is a right. Think GDPR, CCPA, Apple's stance on privacy, etc. Your phone itself isn't tracking you, it's the apps that are on there that you gave "Background location refresh" permission to (at least on iPhone). Most of the creepiest targeting comes from credit card companies, credit reporting companies, and Meta (Facebook). So if you aren't sharing your exact precise location to apps through "Background location" feature, then isn't the DCM extremely invasive? I trust my phone more than my truck.

    You can choose when an app can have your location on Android also. The two options to allow are only when using the app or all the time(background)
    The Toyota app wants background
