Over 300k in my book, I've seen em run well into the 400s though with only minor repairs needed

321,500+ on my 99 now. It's getting up there but still runs solid.

Matter of opinion I think, but I'd agree with ~300k. Also largely depends on how it was treated during that 300k.

Drive it until the wheels fall off, then put it back together and do it again. :mudding:

275K miles on a '97 4Runner, which is the same V6 engine and closely related. Normal maintenance items like belts, plugs, fluids, filters, brake pads, batteries, PVC valves, light bulbs, timing belt w/water pump kit. Replaced alternator, some brake components like a master cylinder, vacuum assist, rotors, & calipers, wheel bearings & seals, rear shocks, front bushings, valve cover gaskets. Still has original exhaust components. Never leaks oil from transmission, engine sump, transfer case, differentials.

988,345! never seen a passenger vehicle with that kind of mileage. if that were mine, once i hit 1 million i would put a 1 sticker to the left of the odometer :)

I was just curious as I bought my '04 last December for $6,000 and it had 179K on it. Honestly got a good deal because my state values the truck at $8,200...

And it's the 3.4L V6 ( Apparently one of the best engines to have? )

I have another truck, a 1998 5-Lug v6 with 450,000 miles. Sent the oil to be tested and they said it was comparable to an engine with a quarter of that mileage. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.

don't put the 1 sticker onit ... then try to sell it as 'very low mileage' lol

I have not read the whole article
was this engine ever rebuilt or swaped out?
    its the V8

That won't work actually, the article I posted said the guy got to 999,999 and it stayed there. The odo doesn't have a way to roll back to zeros, so the guy kept track with his trip meter.

Original engine. I don't believe there was any rebuilding either - regular maintenance only.

sorry, mix up of quotes!!!, that 1 sticker was intended for the non-digital odometer with the old school way of measuring mileage :)

I don't believe those roll over either after 999,999 but you could tear the cluster apart and reset it yourself

my '78 Celica rolled over to all zeros ... but it only had 5 digits lol and I think it had one for the 1/10th mile that was always turning (i forgot so long ago)

so this 6digit will have to update when they reach it

then you just put a hash mark on the dash for every time it rolls back to zeros.
