So Hoegaarden clone is gonna be kegged on Tues. Then brewing another Centennial Blonde. What do do next? Thinking of doing a Vanilla Oatmeal Stout. Anyone have a good recipe?

Brewing problems are good problems - which beer next. Lol I am brewing an Arrogant Bastard clone this weekend and going to keg an English ESB probably midweek. I need to pull a gravity first.

Too poor to list anything interesting.

I usually run into the "I can't drink the previous beer fast enough" problem.

I had that problem for a while; then I went to kegging and have a kegerator that has three taps and can hold six kegs.

I guess I'll need a second keggerator then. Come on Home Depot freezer chest sales!

Craigslist has been really good to me for brewing equipment. I am looking at doing a stand up keezer though. I have seen where guys can have 12-16 kegs cold at one time. The number of taps just depends on how many you bring through the door.

TX, why not just add 3 more taps to yours now? Are they stacked so there is no room?

I am going to start doing 10 gallon batches this fall. Right now I would still be limited to 3 beers on tap because the second keg of each beer. Going to a larger kegerstor will allow me to keep a wider variety of beer on tap while keeping the second keg of each beer cold. Just something I am going to keep an eye out for once I have the extra cash.

I hear you. I can't seem to get mine up to 4 taps running. I keep running out before I get to 2 . Once I do, I plan on either storing the other kegs warm or using my ferm fridge to keep 1 or 2 cold if I'm not fermenting.

We just put a rye IPA in the carboy. Should be ready early August, or hopefully before:

    Safale US yeast
    Sparge:
    1.5 lbs American Rhy malt
    .5 lbs Crystal 90

    60 min boil:
    6 lbs Plain light DME
    1 lb Plain Amber DME

    Hops:
1 oz. Chinook at beginning 13.6% alpha
1 oz. Cascade at 25 min left 7.7% alpha
1 oz. Citra at 10 min. left, 13.9% alpha

tsp Irish moss, 15 min left
1/8 lb dark Belgian candi sugar end of boil

    Dry hop at peak:
1/2 oz. Citra leaf, 13.9% alpha
    1/2 oz. Centennial, 11% alpha

    OG at 80degrees = 1064.5

I have been looking at Rye IPA recipes. Looks like that one should be pretty good. I am surprised at the low bittering hops though. Also - what do you mean by "dry hop at peak"? I am familiar with dry hopping; just not that phrase.

I picked up new keg connections yesterday. Once they are installed I can switch between ball lock, pin lock, or commercial keg connections in less than 5 minutes. So I am thinking about keeping a commercial keg of something good on tap now also. I wish I had setup my kegerator like this the first time around. Now all my keg lines will be where I can swap out the end connections.

Arrogant Bastard clone is only an hour (and three weeks) away now.

Nice, I'm cold crashing my Hoegaarden clone to keg in the next couple of days.
Picked up the ingredients for another Centennial Blonde batch split between normal and dry hopped to be brewed on Tuesday.

I am slowly moving away from glass to plastic carboys. I have had one carboy shatter when my wife was cleaning it so that made my decision very easy. Interesting carboys though.

My kegerator has a new beer in the keg today. I kegged my ESB last night; it finished a little sweet but has a real nice taste to it when we transferred it. Now I am prepping the house for fermenting 15 gallons of barley wine. I still have 5 gallons of Arrogant Bastard clone that needs another week in the fermentation chamber.

The nice thing about the Speidels is the large opening. Makes cleaning much easier. Also they come with all the caps, spigots, airlocks etc... when you buy them.

Sounds like your pipeline is going good.

I'm going out of town so my Centennial Blonde is going to sit in Primary for 2 extra weeks. Should be awesome when I get back though.

That is pretty reasonable that the Speidels come with all the parts needed to make them work. That is one thing I have hated about most fermentation vessels is they nickel/dime you until you are broke.

My pipeline is about to be in gusher mode. I am hopefully picking up 4 more kegs at a hell of a price this weekend. That will give me 8 kegs total; but 3 will be tied up for 6-10 months with the barley wine. Probably will pick up another 2-3 before it is all said and done. I should be good after 10-11 kegs. Famous last words, right?

Yeah I have 5 right now and need 3 more but they are getting tough to find around here. I need ball lock and not pin or converted pin because of the diameter.

Just finished my late year holiday brew - Dry Dock Urca Vanilla Porter. With a twist...will add some lactose, coffee beans soaked in Crown Royal and a touch of caffeine into my secondary.

Should hit around 10.2-11.0% by Thanksgiving.

Only my second brew and did my first yeast starter. Got a spinner for $42.00 with a lifetime warranty.

I give away most of my beers when we have pool parties. But most my friends like the frizzy yellow WIMPY beer.
