    Deckplate mod, sliders, uniden cb, toolbox, dakar leaf pack, in search of coilovers, 255/85 16 bfg m/t waiting to go on
    They were replaced the same day. I was in a hurry and the auto parts store had two different brands, hence the different boots and one with a grease nipple, one without. Also accounts for the difference in rust protection they provided. Now both are enclosed/non-greasable

    If it aint broke dont fix it is a stupid mentality to live by.. If you only change one that has say failed at x number of miles what's to say that the next wont fail too plus it stops mix matched parts and having to have the truck back on blocks a few weeks later..

    So you're saying that I should have replaced my driverside rack boot because the passenger side was torn? Nothing is to say it isn going to fail, but if that bj was not showing any signs of fatigue he didn need to replace it.

    Lets play ur scenario, lets say cylinder 4 is shot on my truck. Does this mean I should replace all 4?

    I don't want to start a argument....

    All I'm saying is that if you have one ball joint with 120,000 miles on it and you are under there replacing one side do them both that way they are both at 0 miles. Imo that the best way to do preventative maintenance so shit doesn't go down when your in the Bush or on a long haul.

    He said both were replaced 2500 miles ago. Are you guys suggesting he buys 2 again? I understand the 100,000 mile argument, but he just said they were BOTH replaced 2500 miles ago

    I was stating replace both at the same time next go around...

    That was before the op said that they were both replaced at the same time but with 2 different manufacturers parts. And that's where people including myself are getting confused.

    In this situation sense the op has a brand new part on the passenger side I would just replace the drivers.
