looking at a truck with 155000 miles on it, is that considered high for these trucks? 3.4L v6 4x4

with regular fluid changes what is the life of these trucks?

I'm fixin to hit 247K and it's running like a champ, a few little fixers here and there, but what would you expect from a 15 year old truck?

all depends on how well it was taken care of. i'm a new taco owner but a dealership technician also. just bought a 03 trd xtracab with 140k on the 3.4 but people would believe me if i told them it only had 30k on it. i drive all kinds of cars all day and i can honestly say that it drives like a new car. The previous owners took EXCELLENT care of it.

Better late than never to this post. Just joined. I agree with everyone. I just sold my '93. It had 270,000 and ran like a top. Just bought a '02 with 155,000 and I'm not worried one bit.

Amazing trucks! I lease mine, so no long term experience... but in LESS than 5 years I put 136,000 miles on my '01. I replaced a water pump at 90,000 miles because a drip was seen... Nothing failed on the truck, and it was driven hard...

102,000 miles on my '05... had a couple issues (brakes, air bag warning light, and rear suspension), but again, never broke down.

and my '10 is not yet 8 months old and has close to 14,000 miles on it.

I think changing the oil every 3,000 miles (but never over 5,000) and doing the recommended services at 15,000 and 30,000 mile intervals keeps the truck inexpensive to own!

I'm glad to hear all of this. I'm at a buck twenty now, just paid off the truck last month & I don't plan on selling the truck anytime soon.

ok whats up with the background on the 600,000 clip. it said original tansmission and engine? is it a fluke or are they counting pre rebuild miles with post rebuild miles? assume this is whats happening because that is not an unlikely scenario. just curious

i have a 95 tacoma 2.7 with only 118,000 and its giving me hell. The door locks are messed up, the ignition locked up, the headlights go completely off when put on bright(im assuming a bad switch), the fuel filter was put in an ignorant place, and it now has a problem of missing terribly at certain times and ive checked almost everything on the truck and im beginning to think that the computer is gone. It has had many more things in the part 1.5 years. It has more than the regular maintenance kept up and it always has its whole life. I guess i just got one of the bad ones.
