That reminds me of a joke.

A guy is walking down the street and hears a crowd of people chanting on the other side of a fence "17,17,17!"

He can't see over the fence, but notices a large knot in one board, and stoops over to look through it.

As he looks looks through the hole, someone pokes him in the eye with a stick, and the crowd starts chanting "18,18,18!"

"I like to do what I can to reduce the suffering"

How does a cow that's been on range pasture for a few years and then harvested with a bolt gun to the head suffer?

We should all be so lucky to die so cleanly and instantly.

Every second of every day a billion trillion organisms murder and consume a billion trillion other organisms. Every second. Every day.

You should meat shame the bugs and worms that will eventually eat your organic rotting corpse!

I got a feeling OP is sitting here watching this thread mean while eating a nice juicy steak.

He joined and this is the first post he makes. Seems like one hell of a troll post to me. But over the past 5-10 years nothing really surprises me anymore. He may be a hard core vegan however.......who wears skin tight pleather pants around town.

Personally I don't care what a person chooses to eat. Or not eat. My beef with many vegans is how vocal they choose to be, trying to tell others what they should do. Then they act like they have the high moral ground.

I was at Sprouts some time back, shopping for meat to smoke for my family. Some guy in a "Friends not food" shirt comes up and starts trying to talk to me about being vegan, and not eating the brisket I am looking at. When I pulled my phone out to start recording him he decided to disengage, but it left a really bad taste in my mouth. It took the bark from brisket the next day to cleanse that taste.

The simple truth is we all kill to eat. All of us. To act as if killing plants is somehow more better than killing animals is laughable to me. If a person truly wants the high moral ground, stop eating or using anything plant or animal based.

    First veagan mod list?
(Thank buddha these things run on synthetic lol )

I left for a while and came back to this btw .

I have had and have a couple friends that are vegetarian and vegan over the years . I moved from southern California to Georgia and as you can imagine the number has dropped as well as variety of store options . I never did quite understand why someone would do this . Or proclaim there food status . I do have to admit some of they're foods were decent .

I just dont see the point in proclaiming vegan or vegetarian status . I got it you do not like meat and some people do not like animal products whatsoever . Dont eat or buy it. No skin off my Yak.

I have two veagan friends here in the Atlanta area . Awesome people I've known for years . They dont judge and dont push it . They do have some tasty ideas though and still come to my bbq's. They just dont eat the meat stuff .

Lol. I know good people there. Lived there for a few years. Still back regularly for work. The crazy people gravitate there from all over the world. Beautiful state, but I can't deal with all the crazy in the metros.

Edit. But then you go on to say you are vegan? So my initial statement holds I guess.

In this thread I've learned that we should be vegan and also stop industrial farming. I guess we should start the soylent green factory up.

I eat only vegan herbivores. And only the innocent vegan animals responsible for no flatulence, which does not contribute to global warming. Which does not raises sea levels and increases acre/feet of oceans, which does not provides additional habitat for deep-water species of fish which are shown to be more healthy in a non-vegan diet. I'm doing my part, my brother in arms.

But I'm not sacking and packing out my shit off the App or John Muir, so deal with it.

I just had a conversation with my 20yo son this morning that applies here...

"Don't be a judgmental douchebag just because someone has different beliefs than you...unless they don't like Star Wars, then fuck that fucking fuck!"

In this thread I learned that I am part of the problem because I am not living like I should. Which is to say that based on my temperament, I am not living as a koala. Solitary, eating and sleeping, and living in a tree fort, and otherwise surly and disagreeable.
