Show me some links to the population numbers. Wolves and coyotes are both territorial animals, so eliminating them only allows for increased reproduction or another pack to expand. I read through some studies from the east coast yesterday when we were discussing this and the initial introduction of predatory species caused a large decline over the first few years but the numbers stabilized after. There was one in Jersey that was interesting but I can't find the link now

Yea that doesn't help me, if you're monitoring population numbers yourself I'm sure you have some data laying around. Otherwise I don't believe that a natural predator, whether the original species of wolf or not, is solely responsible for the decline in population you're seeing.
