Not sure if I’m keeping up. No one screamed to be vegan. As for me, live how you want, just leave me the hell alone!

Forget the name of which one but this is a it’s specific cognitive bias.

Basically the only vegans you think you’ve met are the ones that have been loud. The vegans that never mentioned they were vegan you never even knew about :)

It's internalized guilt that makes posts like this seem like an indictment of our own actions, and so they seem like they are telling me to do something. Instead of attacking these posts, I try to see how they are right!

Probably culturally it is more demanding in Texas generally, unless you're in Austin. But there are lots of vegans still, and lots of places that have vegan options these days. It's a growing trend. Places like Whole Foods have lots of vegan option, and even regular grocery stores have them.

I'm familiar with Spiral Diner. Their nachos are good.

You're describing people that choose a plant based diet, not vegan activists.

One person, not the OP. Also pretty sure it’s not an order, just a suggestion. Tone is often mis”heard” in written form.

You could be right, I really don’t have evidence either way. I wonder if you run across vegans that are not activists and therefore you don’t “see” non-activist vegans. That is, you meet people that are vegan and they don’t tell you. Then you would only experience activist vegans. Not sure I explained that very well! :D

Refer to cognitive bias explained above.

Not all vegans are activists... you just think they are because the non-activist vegans don’t tell you, if they did they’d be activists lol

Plant based diet people are like me, vegans are like my girlfriend. I do it for health, she does it mostly from empathy. You’d never know she was vegan unless overheard her ordering food or something, so she’s definitely no activist I talk about it more than she does.

Ok real talk. Let’s say hypothetically you are in a plane crash, maybe the Andes. Just kinda picking a random location here. You’re stranded, can one vegan eat another vegan and still be a vegan?

Ok I think you are trying to take from a real historical situation now. I was being completely hypothetical.

Yeah I forget tone doesn’t translate well, I’m not a vegan and certainly not trying to convert anyone, just trying to encourage anyone thinking about trying to supercharge their diet to give it a shot with a positive anecdote from my experience. Probably shoulda said “Whole Foods plant based diet” but that’s a mouth full

Naw, we here at TW prefer to critize things we haven’t experienced or have no direct knowledge of. I’m kidding of course. I have the same experience as you. I picked up some medical issues and it was suggested I cut back on meat. So I did. I was surprised how much better I felt.

I'm glad to see you supporting her beliefs on the internet.

I'm not saying it's wrong or right. I support your choices either way.
