I'm looking to go skinnier with my tires, looking at a set if Defender LTX m/s 245 / 75 R 16. Issue is the load rating is 111 and I think that is low and I can't find a clear answer online what they are for 2004 xtracab 3.4.

I see trucks with this tire on them, but that doesn't mean it's appropriate I guess, so I'm confused.

This is a road truck, don't do any off road that the family van wouldn't do. Its also not used regularly for big loads, once or twice a year I might get about 800-1000lbs in the back, but the other 99% if the time it's mountain bikes and gear, 200lbs maybe including rack

Any one know our load rating or have thoughts with a 111 rating?

I don't know what 111 means, but our trucks generally come with LT (light truck) load range C tires. Some people go up a load range if they do a lot of dirt roads at faster speeds (washboard and sharp rocks). I tend to have my truck loaded down and LT range C have always been enough for me.

You could likely go with load range C highway tires.

Must be a Canadian standard, I don't know what C is. I think I figured out my issue, it was a conversation error.

Truck weight+max load weight/4tires = load capacity. Then the load rating has a code.

    5000lb + 1560 / 4 = 1640lbs...744kg max weight per tire

I wasn't converting it into kg. So 1st gen rating is 98 meaning 744kg max per tire. 111 tire rating would mean they can hold 1090kg per tire, so they will work. Thanks
