Looking at new wheels and found a set I really like. But I have to go to a 30 offset to get zero scrub and it might hit my suspension. I don’t want spacers!
The 16” is what I have now and I have to go to a 17” to get the wheels I like. They don’t come in a 16”

    TIA

So reading that it’s optimal to have “some” negative scrub. But how much is to much?

5.5 inches of backspace is about as much as you can have with the Tacoma before issues arrive. With the example of the 17x9 wheel with a 30 offset that would approximately 6.25” of backspace. So depending on what tire size your gonna run and wheel width you’ll probably want a 0 offset or some negative offset.

If your planning on running larger tires and wheels(wider too) and some lift. 0 scrub is not gonna be attainable. I’m running 285/70/17 on a 17x8.5 wheel -10 offset so I have a positive scrub and there no drivability issues at all.

I have about 2.5” of lift on the truck with the stock wheels 16x7 so 17x9 would really change up the look. I appreciate y’alls replies. I’ve learned a ton about my truck hanging out here on TW. Even my wife is getting into modding the beast.
