What is the best pole brush for cleaning truck (microfiber or otherwise)? I've used the search and didn't really find anything. I found some on Amazon, but they had mixed reviews with heads breaking, etc.

I am curious to know too. Most detailing forums I have read advise against a brush/wash pad on a pole. :notsure: Most recommend a work platform to stand on.

That doesn't seem practical for residential use. At least not for me.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
For 20 years I've used a brush on a pole. The more important thing is the quality of the soap you use, imo.

Quality soap isn't an issue. I just wanted to get a decent brush at the end thats not hard on the finish and yet does the job.

I wouldn't use a brush on paint (even a good one) unless you want swirls. In my opinion it's better to leave your truck dirty than try and wash with a brush in the winter.

I live in Florida. Our winter is only a few weeks with a 99.9% chance of never seeing snow though. I'm specifically looking for something I can put on the end of a pole, whether its some jerry rigged contraption, or commercial product. It could microfiber, whatever.

You could try to use a microfiber pad on a commercial mop like this:

Promising. Thats more along the lines what I'm looking for, but I'd also like to get opinions/reviews on whats being used by others. Someone out there is using a pole with something on the end of it for those hard to reach places. I'm short so I'm sure there are others who can relate.

I don't see how one of these would not be practical. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla-...-with-250-lb-Load-Capacity-GLA-47WP/206127529

Doesn't matter what soap you use when the paint is soft. Whatever anyone uses it needs to be something other than a brush. Only time I use a brush is on my tires or the fender well plastic.

Haven't actually used it, but I've read good things about the wash mop from Griot's Garage...

Drive to Walmart, walk back to automotive/detailing, and look for the RV brushes. Don't buy the auto brand that Walmart stocks though because it's low quality and WILL scratch the paint. (I bought one of their washing mits and it scratched the shit out of my truck.) You'll have to go to the RV section and purchase one of them. No complaints so far!

To be honest with you, I've had microfiber clothes do more damage to paint over a brush. Especially those washing mits that I went through like crazy. For what it's worth, the brush and pole method is so much easier. I use the two bucket method with the brushes which elimanetes the majority of the trapped debris. You just don't want to scrub with a brush though.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
I'd be interested in something like that to, docloco. As long as whatever the material is didn't damage my paint. Seems like it would reduce the time required to wash my truck. Would be very valuable in hot, humid weather.
