I'm trying to find the best way to mount these bilstein 7100 10" shocks on a 2002 DC and deaver 8 packs 3.5" lift . I did some researches and found that some people mount it to their stock mounts but doing this will limit the shocks travel. While some people made a cross member shock mount and axle mount for more shocks travel. If anyone here with a similar set up please post your rear suspension set up. If the leaf pack actually add 3.5 inch of lift can i go with the stock mount ? i know it a newbie question :D

I have 10" 5150's mounted using the stock shock locations, havent had any problems.

You're thinking about triangulating your rear shocks, which would require welding in a new cross member and new lower shock mounts. You can get more travel out of the shock like this and use longer shocks, but doing so severely limits the shock's dampening ability

basically you give up the shocks ability to control the bouncing of the leaf pack on-road, sacrificing it for flex.
