First post here been browsing for a long time. I haven't really found anything on here about the best place to add the antenna. My options are the ditch light bracket and the rear tailgate mount. I am not sure which area is the best to mount it. Does it matter reception wise? Which looks better in your opinion? I know very little about CB's or antenna reception. Any help would be awesome thank you!

When I had my Jeep, I put on a roof rack and mounted to the rack was a thin gauge metal plate about 24"x36". I also glued a thin rubber mat to the bottom of the metal plate. This stopped all vibration on the roof rack. I used a magnetic base antenna. The antenna was perfect and I had a good ground plane do to the metal plate. I use ham radio only.

After getting my Tacoma, I just put the magnetic mount on the roof. Again it works great. Zooming through Wyoming headed to Oregon to hunt sage rats, we traveled around 80 (+-) and it never blew off and we always had good contact in our caravan.

Before I put it on the Tacoma roof, I'll clean the area where it will go, windex, soap and water, etc and also clean the magnetic base. This is just to get the crud off the roof and base so I don't scratch the roof.

I have no clue if this will work with the type of antenna you're using... but I just ordered this earlier in the week for my truck for my fire department mobile radio (front fender / hood mount VEHICLE SPECIFIC)

and they also sell one with the coax and connector choices too: https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/toyota-tacoma-15-20-8954

Not sure if it helps but I hope it does! Good luck! Mine comes in tommorow and I can take pics once installed if you want!
