    It does suck getting old.
I still surf, travel to surf in 3rd world countries.....always know when my vacation is over is when I start thinking I want to sleep in my air conditioned house, drink filtered water out of my fridge and sleep in my bed.....:bananadance:

I still ride dirt bikes, went out today...trying to loosen up my shoulder that has been locked up for the past three weeks...think I made it worse! Oh well....

We moved to place where the riding is super close to us, maybe that is why I don't camp that much anymore, with killer riding nearby...why go camp when I can come home, get a hot shower and sleep in my own bed.

Hit a nerve did I? Sorry bout that.

I got a bit carried away after quoting you above. It wasn't at all aimed at you directly. Rather it was for the many folks that labeled the after hours relief as a legit reason why not to purchase a RTT.

And don't call me Cupcake unless you really mean it.

    Thanks!

Pretty much the back yard, trailhead is 30 minutes from the house. 100's of miles of trails.

Is that BLM land or US Forest land?
Can you camp out there as well?

Sometimes it's fun to take a week long vacation to places like that (even if they are close to home) so you can ride as long or little as you like per day over the coarse of many days.

BLM and checkered board with private ranches...this area is just the tip of the iceberg, 2.5 million acres of the least populated area in the 48. Oh yeah, plenty of camping, bunch of old mines to explore, old homesteads, canyons, hot springs, you name it.

Actually planning on heading there in 2 weeks for a 3 day camping/moto trip, just to get a break from all the work madness. There are some faint trails I want to explore that I haven't had a chance to yet, though might still have too much snow in the higher elevations. Tried to get up high today, but ran into snow pack. But it is still early in the season...after last year's hard winter, lucky to get out this early.

All I can say IDGAF, overland4lyfeebruh, shaggin 5 foot high with squeaky leaf springs, then pissing out the window, I couldn't do these things in a ground tent. ALSO, everyone, no matter where I go has to know that I'm an outdoor enthusiast from the PNW. Maybe, just maybe, one day, the rest of you bottom feeders will adapt to the ways of modern camping. If I'm going camping and it doesn't involve my RTT, I AINT GOIN, obvi. Brb, gotta go to starbucks.

You must be SW of Boise.

Similar to SE Oregon. Lots of places to camp, ride, plink, soak, and explore. Shy of the mozzies, ticks and biting flies, I love it out there.

    Yep.

I was over in SE Oregon for New Years, over by Owyhee River/Reservoir and Leslie Gulch.

Great area to explore desert, rivers, lakes, and alpine, usually all in a hundred mile loop.

Trying to convince the better half to move out there some day. New England is so old that the land is pretty well locked up for use. You can still find some areas to explore but not like what my friends do out west.

Need to wrap up all my exploring here first before I can justify moving on though. Haha

I grew up in PA, left for AZ at 21...lived there for 20 years, explored all over there, NM, SoCal, CO, and Baja...moved here 3.5 years ago with the intention of exploring here the surrounding states and the PNW the next 20 years. Try to scoot up to Canada and Alaska too.

Have been all over the state so far for quicky 3-4 day trips, trying to see where my favorite is so I can go back and spend a couple weeks at....but man, there is so much good stuff hard to pick just one. Not a bad problem to have!

Got to ride a bunch last year, but camping was a bust...only went 3 times. Winter was long, spring was super rainy and wet...then June hit, and it stay in the 90's the rest of the summer. Got heat stroke clearing trail up near the Sawtooths. After that, didn't feel like camping in 90º heat.

Camping pic tossed in to keep it on topic! :D

I don't do well in the heat, nor did I want to be cold and wet either...that is when I start thinking how nice a camper would be.

Think I need to get a Tundra with a RTT or Four Wheel Camper shell, for quickie weekenders...and tow a small toyhauler for the extended trips. There is the ultimate setup! ;)
