A new truck has entered the picture, so far all communication has been done through e-mail the truck in question is a 08' TRD Sport with 26 miles. It is a NEW truck and is being sold through the used department to move it off the lot. I've seen it on their sight for over a month They are asking $24,999 but off the lot would be $27,386
I've told them why should I consider their truck when would be able to get a new truck in the same specs for less off the lot.
The last e-mail I got stated "While I certainly understand your conserns, I'm wondering where I need to be to earn your business on this truck?"
From all the Taco buying experts here what would be a reasonable offer?

2wd, there is no sticker listed online it says to call or e-mail and they sent it to me in an e-mail as $24,999 (priced to move) with $27,386 being the Off the Lot price including all fees/taxes.

Would I be out of my Mind to say $23,000 Off the Lot?

End of year, they need to move it, the cards are in your hand. I assume you are doing the financing yourself at your own bank. If this is the case then this is a cash deal.

Make sure when you make them an offer, it is below what you are willing to pay, and that you tell them this is a CASH sale!

I spent hours and hours figuring a good deal when I bought mine. I haven't checked into the goin rate on a 2wd lately. Sounds like you are on track though.

Just make it outrageously low, and lay offers on the table at multiple dealers. Make them aware you are working with other dealers as well. First one to bite gets your money!

Well sounds right since i'm looking at 3, 2007 Tacoma's all under 27k miles and 2 are Sports for all under $20,000.

And yes other then my trade, this would be a cash deal. On that note would I get a better deal if i was able to sell my current vehicle rather then trading it in?

depends on what your current vehicle is, and how you wanted to sell it. if you wanted to wait the avg of 3 weeks to sell a vehicle with a classified/auto trader ad then yes you could probably get more money for it. if you went to Car Max they will cut you at least 3k less than kbb, or at least that is what they did to me with my mazda3. on trade in they will try to low ball you, but you can always tell them that you owe more than you do and have them give you more for it. thats what i ended up doing

trade in almost always puts the dealer with the advantage......as I have said before......completely cash offers get attention......anything else takes more of there time and costs you $......

Remember though, when you feel you are getting a good deal, jump on it....if you feel you need to trade, then do it, will you be able to sell your vehicle in this economy? Just things to think about....

It's a 04' VERY base extended cab colorado 5cly based on Kbb.com it's barely able to command $7,000 in excellent private sell and so far 2 diff dealers have put me at $4,000 and $5,500 for trade.

All depends if anyone is trying to work the same deal I am.... I've been jumped in front of on 2 deals so far looking for a Taco :(

As far as getting jumped in front of....be patient if you want a great deal....just remember, it is a great deal when you say its a great deal....

that said, I don't think 23,000 OTD would be to bad a deal...seems 24 OTD would even be ok.

Hope someone that has wheeled and dealed lately will chime in...come on newbies!!:D

Hence why I came here was for the help of the Taco buying gods to get their ideas since they have done the wheel and deal, while this would be my first dealer bought vehicle....

Would I still be eligible/able to push for the 0% APR since it's still a new truck that they are trying to push out the door?

I got some incentive money for not using the 0% and saved more in the long run. If you hint about any financing, then the straight up cash deal won't be as sweet to them.
