No harm? Well I’ll tell you this. You’ll lose about 3-4 mpg. Drive with a steady foot, level ground steady speed and look at your current mpg (in eco app) then push the ECT button and watch it drop about 4 mpg although rpms don’t change.

“. It is important to note that extended use of power mode will result in lower fuel-economy ratings.”

Personally don’t like it. If I need power, I downshift it and boom VVTI kicks in yo.

Meh. Only sounds good with VTECH.

I really can’t tell bro. Downshift yes. But ECT it’s not night and day. Towing probably. Going up to big bear didn’t need it. V6 doesn’t have a power or lack of issue. If it’s available in 4 cylinder probably noticeable.

Ill push the ECT in my 05 6 speed and get back to you on MPG. Probably in the single digits.

Hahaha I’m just fucking around, there’s no ECT button on the second gens. When I originally said “no harm” I meant you’re not going to damage the truck in any way. Just want to clarify.

Ya I was playing ( Experimenting ) with it today and I was like whoa when the mpg dropped like that. The a/c doesn’t even do that. Like I said weird cause the rpms and tone never changed but I wasn’t trying the “instant power” from throttle repsonce either. I know what button I’m NOT pushing when I lift and get tires though.... or maybe I will cause I’ll feel sluggish. We shall see.

Truck goes slower after you press the button anyway so sounds like you are on the right track.
