This is the most recent for 2018 with nav. Says 2017. I’m running an older version, I still have pandora. My head unit won’t update. But it works, so maybe I’ll leave it. Don’t use any entune trash anyway.

I just had mine updated to 0101A1 from whatever it had factory, and it made some unexpected changes.
    1. People can’t hear me very well through the stereo anymore, it used to be very crisp
    2. Music sounds better, more audible details & the bass is no longer flat
    3. Added Amazon Alexa, still no carplay
    :(
**EDIT - removing & re-pairing my iphone to the truck fixed the call issue

Weird. I tried to not let it update when they pushed the remove pandora update, I could decline the over the air update but the pandora app still wouldn't work.

    AKGSD,

I never was able to get the dealership to update the radio for me, nor would I be willing to spend money to get access online to download the update. This in my mind should be posted online for free because it is a bug and we all can use the patches.

Nevertheless I am on a beta OS Android 11 and most of my issues are gone. Plus with Alexa on it now I am a lot happier with bluetooth connects correcly.

Someday I hope the update is released online so I can patch my radio.

Attached is the most recent. At least three versions beyond the download site now.

Do these updates have to be installed by the dealer or is it something that can be done from home?

You can do them from home if you have the Toyota Entune app on your phone and connected to the headunit.
Also, FWIW - Make it a habit to unpair and repair your phone to the headunit after an update. It almost always fixes the weird call issues/audio problems.

Yes. You just need the FW files.

Just to clarify, there are two types of updates: OTAs and full firmware. The OTA Entune updates are patches. What is downloaded from the website or passed around are full FW files, about 160mb. They are installed manually using a USB drive.

Not too tech savy. What is a FW file and where can it be found? Thanks for the info!

    metwo,

Thank you so much for that. I just updated the radio and wow!!! it fixed my issues with the radio and the phone, even new ones I hadwith Alexa audio being too low and slow opening and connecting. Wish I had the 160 file because I think this has been a issue the whole time I own the truck "Navigation routes include unnecessary U-turns and detours"

It is just extremely sad these updates are not easily gotten in the times we are with technology I feel like the updates are very important.

If anyone had the issues or older firmware update it asap

Updates are very important, esp as the FW is tied pretty tightly to what the phone OSs are using.

I had a bad lag after loading a new Android OS, sometimes a 1min delay on inputs. The version on the Download site was newer and fixed me up. I think it was Version 146, or something like that? Version 158 didn't make any great improvements for me. I haven't driven the Taco since the Alexa update happened.

I have Version 160, but the person that I got it from and me both could not install it after several attempts of trying different things including wiping the HU, which was a small PITA to set up again. I am watching for the next version that hopefully works.

It is a bit ridiculous as the Download site is an excellent way to get these out to owners that want to try. Why it is so out of date is a mystery.

The links in this PDF aren't working for me, they don't seem to have an actual website, just some subdirectory.

The links will not. They are internal to TiS. This is just PDF'ed output.

You need the individual KWI files. What's your HU model number?
