This my friend was a sweet car, especially for a high school student. A friend of mine had one and it was fast.....in the shop a few times. But very expensive to fix. Dam it was cool.....

Rotary engine, this one had leather seats, and looked like a sports car. I love the sound of the rotary...

'06 silverado, holy crap what a pos. The shuttle driver from the dealership and I were on a first name basis, he drove me to work more than the truck did. I lost track of everything that went wrong but my favorite was the defective steering column. If the steering wheel sat in one position for more than a few seconds it stuck and i had to break it free, that was fun.

Absolutely unequivocally without a doubt. Total piece of shit. I blew that charger up three times. Twice before I modified it. Once after. Fog lights were like 400 bucks and broke without fail. Sunroof motor would go out. 2nd gear synchro would go out. Automatic seat belts would get stuck. Alternator went out twice. That car was seriously a total piece of garbage, and yet hands down that is my favorite car driving experience. When it was right out was entirely addictive

    Hahaha
This makes me tremendously happy to see.
I got to this thread crazy late and just posted about my old G60. Thought to myself "I wonder if there are any other Corrado owners that posted about this? Thank you good sir for delivering.

Of the vehicles I have owned I would say my Toyota Tacoma is the most unreliable of the bunch, it has been on the hook more times in the 5 years I have owned it than the rest of my vehicles combined. It has generally been the worst to work on when you combine the poor design and the ongoing rust issues(gas tank strap and bracket being the latest with the starter only a couple weeks ago). Unless I can find a pristine pre-tacoma pickup or possibly an old land cruiser this will be the first and last toyota I buy.

I seriously just looked up the commercials the other day. Had to hear Ricardo Montebaun say "rich Corinthian leather" again.

Our 08 Wrangler Sahara six speed is still going strong, once the dealer rebuilt the transmission under warranty, it has hasn't been near the dealership, I usually don't open the hood between oil changes. The big expense has been tires, second set of summer tires and second set of snows. Blizzaks don't last long...Now, I do think the mechanical LSD is about worn out, but there is no reason to pull the axle apart for THAT. The last "repair" was almost two years ago when the original tie rod ends and drag links wore out, and rockauto sent a big box of new pieces that went on in a couple of hours, this time with greasable fittings. I do admit the original shocks and brakes were terrible, but those were replaced early in the lifecycle. Oh, and last winter the heat shield above the muffler rotted and rattled, four wheel parts had them for under $20, and put a new muffler, clamps and rubbers while I was up there.

However, we have given it to my wife's sister to drive since my wife bought a new WRX that is much more fun to drive.

I married a wonderful woman, who brought along to the marriage a 1972 V6 Mercury Capri. They were both cute.
    scan0010.jpg
But on the car, Nearly everything was poorly engineered. Mercury did not acknowledge they even made a V6, and kept referring me to a european Ford inventory for parts. Ultimately, I found that the Mercury Bobcat with a V6 had many interchangeable parts. And, believe me I interchanged. Water pumps, fuel pumps. My wife waited till after the ceremony to break the gear shift lever off inside the transmission. That was relatively easy to fix, once I pulled the transmission out of the car. Unfortunately, we lived in an apartment at the time, so much of my repair work was done in the parking lot. Traded it for a VW Rabbit in 1978, probably the greatest relief I've ever felt to unburden from a car.

Well personally I haven't experienced either of those. 16 year old truck in Nebraska and the frame brand new looking and the springs are so-so not broke tho. I did mention the Toyota sienna a few pages back which was a total pos the way the exhaust manifold was routed it boiled the oil causing it to gel up....

My previous car, 2001 Audi S4 avant. Looked awesome and pulled like hell when running right, also only about 1500 avants (wagon) sold in the 2 years they were offered so you'd rarely see another while out and about. I replaced damn near everything on it. I miss it sometimes (mainly on ramps haha) but definitely don't regret moving on to the Tacoma.

2010 VW Jetta TDI. Loved it when it ran, but I saw the check engine light and glow plug warning light so many times in the first 36K miles I was literally afraid to take long trips in it anymore. Sometimes the power would drop without real reason, and when the radio completely died at 40K miles -- just out of warranty -- and the dealer told me a new one would be $1,600 plus installation (and it wasn't even a Navigation unit) I decided I wasn't rich and/or dumb enough to own a VW anymore.

I'm just going to say this for fun, but if you expect anything manufactured in the last 20 years that is over 10 years old to be reliable, you're nuts. That's not directed at anyone, I just haven't been on this thread for a while and I notice a few people complaining about issues on very old vehicles. Maybe those things should be retired at some point lol.

I didn't read through all of this, but my worst was a 1987 Mustang. That thing had some sort of significant failure every 2000km like clockwork. I couldn't go on any kind of roadtrip without leaving an extra contingency day for repairs. I didn't get it new, but my grandpa did and it was his garage kept summer car with super low miles when he left it to me.

I wonder how many salesmen have lost commissions or their jobs this way. When my mom was pregnant with my little bro she was shopping for a bigger family vehicle by herself (dad was at work like always) and she got treated like crap and couldn't get a test drive. Dad called the owner who happened to be a family friend and they made a special trip down there to ream out the salesman. After apologies were made, my dad paid cash for the new Explorer and the owner made that salesman do all the paperwork and gave the commission to someone else. They still have the apology card in a drawer somewhere. I thought times had changed, but maybe not.

    Where does one begin......

Every Ford I have ever owned except for the 1971 Torino GT 351 V8 hand me down was a piece of shit. Nothing but electrical and rust problems. That drove me to Chevrolet, which I found out was worse than Ford. I moved on to Dodge, and found out you had to be a millionaire to keep them running. I tried Nissan....somewhat okay except for body rotting, and Subaru, okay but it rotted to pieces too. All the while I saw Toyotas keep on keeping on. So I bought one. Hope the fucker holds together.

Basically, I think all cars and trucks are shit after 1971. I'm waiting to see how the Tacoma does. If it turns out to be a turd as well, then I'll just take the fucking bus I guess. Or take the skateboard out of mothballs.

I know of a local GMC dealer who also won't let women test drive anything other than tiny little shit box cars unless they can run a credit pre approval. That dealer also wrote an open letter to the paper complaining that people don't buy local anymore
