When I did my bumper I just cut them down and reinstalled them so it wasn't a big open hole.

Following since I have no clue what they are for.

I'll start by saying that I have no clue.

I suspect that it's a measure against something that happens in accident testing or some protection they thought was needed.

I doubt they think the body mounts need to be so retardedly large just to mount the cab either. My guess is side or angle impact protection. Maybe it's to stop the tire from crushing the footwell in a frontal collision.

Mine are on the floor in the garage after the bumper Install. I'm not remotely worried about it.

Yes, almost certainly for the IIHS "small overlap frontal crash" test...

Why? It's pretty clear in the picture and OP even circled it. It's the extended tube from the radiator support.
I'm guessing it's there to maybe help road trash from getting up in the wheel area? You throw them away with most aftermarket bumpers unless you want it to get hung up.

Thanks boss, but it's not "pretty clear" in the pic or I wouldn't have asked.
Just wondering if the OP or maybe @Sparky2 have a better pic of the part. Thanks in advance!

Have you been to an Eye Doctor lately, or looked under your truck? It IS obvious what is circled. hard to get a good picture of a bunch of black metal under the truck, but even then it is obvious if you have ever looked in that area.

The photo does not look clear to me either it's dark and difficult to discern between shapes. It could be a monitor/phone screen brightness and contrast issue.

Looked like a floating bolt to me.

    Lighting does wonders.

    Carry on.

In all seriousness. If you look in the general area of the photo and the "floating bolt" on your own truck, it's pretty obvious. It sticks out like a donkey dick. if you can't figure out what the OP is referring too in the not so good photo, chances are you won't know what the hell it is anyway?

    I read didgeridoo.

Also I also think the photo contrast is hard to see.

We don't stab people anymore, it's too much work. instead, we buy handguns off the street and spray bullets everywhere hoping to hit intended target.
