Just out of curiosity where did toyota set them at, if any of you TRD PRO peep could pop off your rigid plastic bezels and look that would be appreciated. I just installed them yesterday and look fine but might just be slightly off, kept looking st them last night...

I adjusted it where I can see 2-3 threads left when I tightened it.

If anyone was curious what they looked like if they wanted to burn 500...and no they aren't anything extremely bright vs LED bulbs, even probably factory fogs. I just like OEM stuff and DOT approved lighting.

    Thanks

Rough rule of thumb with fog lights- Back up 15 feet from a wall or big door. Set the very top of the fog light beam even with the bottom of your low beam.

Holy crap, $500?!? For less than 200 you can buy the Rigid Industries SAE fog lights (basically same as these in a cube) and are still DOT approved and you save $300. Granted, they won't fit the same and are not OEM

I vaguely remember them being match marked w/ paint pen maybe? I just put 'em in where set from Toyota and haven't jacked with 'em since.

I would have had them set from toyota out the box but I was all messing with the adjustment screw not knowing what I was doing before the install...

Well there's your problem. :) Shoot wherever you purchased 'em from a request to have them check a measurement for you. I'd pull one and check for you but I'm at work. So close but not much to see......

I set mine just below the standard bulbs.

I'm pleased with the light output. True, they are not super wide. I like they are a bit more narrow and project. They are easily brighter than the stock halogens. Cut off is great. I'm very pleased with them. Definitely better than stock bulbs. I wanted to go OEM and street legal, and i'm quite happy.

Just a heads up; DOT approved does not actually mean street legal. You can still get a ticket for running aftermarket DOT approved lights. SAE just means they meet standards set by society of automotive engineers.

Woah, that's interesting! Thanks for the heads up. So then is rigid industries wrong to say that their lights can be used "on-the-road and not just off-road"?

They sort of explain SAE stuff here at the bottom of the page: http://www.rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/50481

Also, sorry to thread jack, OP.

I don't personally have the Pro fog lights but from what I can tell, it seems to line up good to where I would aim them. Fog lights are not ment to be aimed very high anyways so as long as you keep it below the low-beam's bottom cutoff point you should be good.

You are the one who said those lights were DOT approved, not Rigid. Rigid does not list that on their website

No, but they state (as I said above) that they can be used both on and off road because they are SAE compliant. Taken from the link I gave above. In my first post, I said DOT approved - which I can't find online anymore, maybe this was false information. But my point is, I think it's interesting that Rigid Industries states that these lights are quote "street legal", yet that may not actually be the case.

I think the idea behind that is because they have a cutoff line, they are much less annoying to other drivers. As rigid states "SAE is not law in most areas" so that can be left to interpretation.
