Noticed this button behind my gas pedal when I was putting my floor mats back in the other day. Anybody know what it is? Does not seem like the gas pedal or anything else could contact it.

    Reserected from the dead.
    A/C cut out?

Many vehicles disengage the a/c clutch during heavy acceleration. More power to zoom.

No it's def behind the gas pedal. There is a clutch switch(you guessed it, behind the clutch) and yeah it has to be pushed all the way in to engage 4LOW.

SOLVED: just went and looked again, there it a tab welded to the parking brake lever that pushes on the switch when the parking brake is let all the way out.

On some cars, like my wife's Mazda, that triggers the DRLs (daytime running lights) to turn on/off. If you have the parking brake on, DRLs are off. Once you release the parking brake, they come on. On other cars the DRLs come on as soon as you start the engine.

You nailed it, Tacoma does the same thing. DRL come on when I release parking brake.
