    My truck is a 2001 sr5 4door 4x4.

I bought it about two weeks ago from a dealer.

I was cleaning it today and noticed there was a button on the drivers side foot panel or whatever its called. It's clearly not stock and I have no clue what it is, I've looked at the mods section but I didn't see anything.

Probably part of an aftermarket alarm system. I see a relay with a zip tie on it. Probably also part of an alrm system. That button is probably a valet button.

When I worked at Douglas, we had a couple of engineers who constantly played practical jokes on each other.

One day, one of them walks in and finds a box on his desk.
One button, and a green light like the old CB base station "ON AIR/OFF AIR" lights that said "PRESS TO ACTIVATE"

Who could resist that? He pressed it.

The light changed to "RELEASE TO DETONATE"

He stood there for a good 10 minutes before he released the button.
Builder had wired a small smoke bomb into it... let out a couple of puffs and the lights went out.

    The practical jokes stopped PDQ.

I checked and as far as I can tell it doesn't go to the alarm, I really can't tell though as it is wrapped up with a bunch of other wires.

I missed it earlier i guess because it was bright out and you cant really see the alarm light during the day, but when I press the button it lights up the light. I'll check the manual for the alarm.
