What is this on windshield

Is this something from the factory or maybe some crap the dealer threw on? Brand new 2014 Tacoma TRD off road. Does not say anything, and does not seem visible from outside.

 

hit it with some LN2 and peel it off, then post some pics

 

I have an 14 and mine doesn't have it, I would just remove it, as well as the oil reminder sticker, the light will come on anyway

 

Didn't know if it was some strange wireless thing that did so,etching I had no idea the truck even did. Suppose off she will come

 

My wife was asking me what the hell it is. I also have a 2014 and it has the same black strip. Of course i pretended to know what it was but I dont have a clue.

Maybe it's on there in case you try to steal it from the dealer. The lights and noises start going off as you go out the door.

 

My guess is that it's some sort of electronic tag.

Definitely don't think it's something you need to have there. Peel it off and dissect it for us

Well damn. Now it seems like a random thing. I'm gonna peel off and cut open.....curious now.

 

Dissection complete.......dunno what the hell it was for, seems like a really think sticker with a foil type backing. Gone now, truck still starts, good to go. Adhesive it was using to stick smells god awful though. But left no residue.

It's an RFID tag. It could be there from the factory. It's an easy way to scan a parking lot full of taco's in to the shipping system. I've used something similar to keep track of Connex's going to and fro the nastier places on the planet by train while in the Army.

Nice. So in other words, it's another way of watching us.....next thing ya know they will be scanning cars via airplane from these things in parking lots.....
