    96 2.4 auto 2wd, it comes out of the same harness as the plug for the MAF. What is it for? I highlighted it in the picture.

    Earlier 1st gens had a separate air intake temp sensor. This may be that unused plug. The new MAF may have a temp sensor built in.

    There is a temp sensor going into the air filter box just ahead of the MAF, is that what you are referring to?
