The diesel has enough torque at idle speeds that no compensation is needed.

Exactly lol. Love my Duramax. If I didn't need a diesel to tow, I would have a Tacoma too lol

i noticed it when im in the truck on my lunch break in the summer time. had the ac cranked and it did it but i didnt care much for it. when you idle with your motor hot you'll notice a high pitch kinda bird sound when it is idling. dont be alarmed that is the self cleaning carbon shit with the pistons thing workin, its a normal function.

They took it out for the 2018 models, so the 2019 shouldn't have it either. Not sure why, but they did

Keep the filter behind it clean and keep the mice out of your garage. Believe it or not I remove the blower motor to vacuum it out of many of my customers Toyota's. The mice will nest on top of the filter and when you remove it all the debris drops down directly into the blower motor. It is probably the most neglected maintenance item I've seen on any vehicle. For some reason the critters can get into the ventilation system in Toyota's.

    2016, 2017 only I think

Once you have TSS, you are assimilated by the hive mind. You no longer need to organize your small glove box stowables. You are now legion. Let go. Become we. You do not exist as a unique entity.

    N stuff

    Whoa, trippy.
Like, it's a copy of you that lives in your glove box.

Ok, I've officially been watching too much Black Mirror on Netflix.

Hey, btw. Who actually stows gloves in their glove box? Not me.

You're likely experiencing the surge that gets fixed with a software update from Toyota. It's TSB 0062-18. I know it's for the 2017 tacoma, because I had the same issue. I got the update this week and it's night and day difference in the truck. The entire truck seemed extremely sluggish and would surge sometimes at 40-50 mph. Now with the update, the truck actually WANTS to accelerate rather than struggle. It shifts better, and at a more sound rpm than before.
