I'd be so mad if the dealer spliced into my new harness.

OP is probably in a better situation, since the contraption only plugs into the OBDII port.

    Others, not so good.

Only if you already have remote start. It is an attachment to allow smart phones to operate the remote start.

It adds the ability to remote start from your cell phone. You still need the actual remote starter and this is an add on to it.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
Bingo. Our specialty because we set them up with the correct adapter and harnesses, and program everything to your vehicle make, model, year, transmission and ignition type. Amazon sellers aren't authorized dealers for Carlink hence no warranty should something go bad. They're actually being cracked down on from what Carlink has told me a week ago so don't be surprised if these 3rd party marketplace sellers start to slowly disappear. Serials are tracked and whomever is supplying them (if it is an authorized dealer) will be cut from dealer access programs.

A guy from the dealership (or contracted out from the dealership) came by my house to install this. It’s a GPS tracker that I paid for when I bought my truck new. I can see where it is, what trips it’s taken, send an alert if it’s been moved, send an alert of it goes over a MPH that I set and can let me know if it’s gone out of a geo fence I’ve set. It gave me a slight discount on my auto insurance and I live near the port of LA so.....

It’s a pretty cool device and the App is called Theft Patrol.

i heard back from the dealer i got the car from. According to the service manager its exactly this. this was part of the "dealer add ons" that i had them remove, it included permaplate. which to me is useless. the dealer said since i never had Theft Patrol activated, i can just remove it.

the mystry has been solved. :bananadance:
