Rusty truck undersides want to be sprayed off with fresh water, allowed to dry, and then sprayed with bar chain oil.

Last time I looked, mine was like that too, but I did soak the whole truck in Fluid Film immediately after buying it...

I don't think you should run to the dealer for every little thing like that which is normal anyway . Take care of it yourself if it bothers you and this thread was pretty funny the diff operation was great .

How did you fish that out? I bet that sucked. Not much room, especially when the bearing is still in the way.

Very carefully had to drop the line in and tie it around the end piece while in the diff and pull it back out. Can’t believe it worked

It's called made in Thailand. Third world parts and labor equal high profit margins.

i just bought a 2017 2 weeks ago never having heard about frame rusting problems. toyotas are the most reliable, durable, indestructable, longest lasting trucks ever to drive upon the face of the earth. i have plans to drive this thing for 20 years, and now i find out the frame is gonna rot in half twice before then. my entire world view has been shattered. my confidence in humanity has been shaken. if i can't believe in the quality of toyota anymore, what can i believe in? I now question the very existence of God, for if there be a God, surely He would not allow something so terrible such as this to happen. my family has owned toyotas since the 90's and they have been absolutly exceptional, but this is my first toyota truck. oh the humanity.
