    Kind of a stupid question, but does anyone know what this little section under the driver's side vent is for or what you could put here? It pops off but there's nothing behind it

    That is the location of the 4WD switch on 4x Tacos. I assume you have a prerunner?

    On ours (because I have a 2wd as well) it's just a filler plate. No use. This is where the 4x4 dial goes on the 4WD.

    As others have said, in a 2WD it's a blank. I drilled it and installed a phone mount. Rock solid.
