:bananadead: Good point. Resale value is higher for a Tacoma. There's a reason for that.

Oh trust me, I hear about that all the time, how pissed he is that his Frontier doesn't hold value like Tacoma.

To him your mud flaps maybe crap but at least at the end of the day your truck will come out ahead of the Frontier.

To save a few bucks though, I would just trim them. I trimmed a lot of mine, but just a few inches makes a world of difference.(thats what she said) and they won't drag on anything anymore. I hated going over speed bumps and dragging them.

I drove my Gen 1 for 230k miles and not an issue with the mudflaps. I have 8k on this new truck and been worried about these stupid things at least a dozen times. Pretty distracting when you are backing up a 20' duck hunting boat in a really tight spot and the freakin' mud flap makes all that noise.

I know when it happened. I was backing my boat into a tight, rocky launch with stone walls on either side and I think that's when I hit it. I didn't get out and look for it because these things drag all the time. I'm getting some that don't suck, because these stock ones do.

At least if your Tacoma has no mud flaps, it's still worth more than his Frontier.

 definitely true. my buddy can't stand the idea of the 4x4 case being a switch on the dash... hes dead set on a first gen for that reason only... even though it is nbd...

I don't think anyone yet pointed out the helpful tip that if you end up breaking the factory flaps, Husky makes an affordable replacement.

Weathertech does as well. From what I remember, the cost is pretty steep though. But whoever said the dealership was cheap either.

Oh Jethro, friends don't let friends drive Frontiers and talk shit. But give it time, when his POS starts falling apart you'll be able to have plenty of laughs at his expense.

And your Tacoma to pull him home when he starts bitching that his Frontier is not working properly and breaking down.

I wouldn't talk shit about Frontiers, but my friend had one and the clutch let go after 40k. He let the truck go after that little incident.

I use to want a Frontier long, long time ago. Once I started doing the research on it, I became less and less impressed with it. I've always wanted a Tundra before I could even drive. I went and looked at a Tundra when I started to drive and it was too big for my liking. 2 Years ago I was able to afford it and i bought my first Tacoma which was a DCLB. After owning that as my first truck, I'll never own any other truck(for the seeable future). Traded and got my Access Cab and I am going to drive it until it dies. At least I know it won't die as quickly and as easily as the Frontier.

I drove my 95.5 Taco until I bought the 2011. Figure I'll drive this one until I can give it to my son in 14 years. Or I'll keep it :D

I just saw your earlier comment. Don't worry, the time will come when you'll rip off a mudflap. I ripped off both the front ones the first time out in the woods.

I'm not trying to take them off on purpose. I just know it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when.
